I think you may be accepting some spin as fact. With each attempt to pass the bill that was falsely labeled "comprehensive immigration reform", Cruz put forth amendments that we called "poison pills". But that was media spin because what he did was skillfully expose the Gang of Eight bill for what it was - voter recruitment.

Cruz's amendment was to allow immigrants to gain "legal status" but not to become citizens with the ability to legally vote. One look at that and the Gang of Eight, the establishment insiders and the media went into full smear mode against him. Now they continue the smear by saying he proposed a bill allowing for citizenship - a lie.

Even if you buy that BS, his crafty exposure achieved a big fat zero.
And that’s the bottom line.

So while his supporters may choose to claim he fought the bill, the claim he stopped, or influenced the outcome of that round of immigration reform, in any way, is dishonest.

Might just as well "whistle Dixie" around here than speak the actual truth around here!

Many in this crowd are as sold out regardless of how much truth is spoken, pointed to, etc.

They want to believe in nothing other than promises and platitudes as the Obama zealots did in the lead up to '08!

One needed to only listen to one of Obama's closest mentors, RevWright spewing hate from his pulpit and know Obama sat under this filth for some 20 years, to have an inkling of the true Obama but nope, no one would listen.

Even some of my friends who stepped up to vote for the man (Republicans one and all) "wanted to be a part of history, proving that America had moved beyond slavery!"

Some even repeated the error in '12, "because Obama, the first black President, could hardly get his feet wet 'remaking America!'"

I refuse to speak with them regarding their choice by asking them how they like the way "Obama has moved relations" now!

The Lord tells us to "kick the sand from your sandles" and move on. Would that I stick to that every day.
