*sigh* Another show where Rush says “Conservatism doesn’t matter.” and “We are above and beyond conservatism now.” Rush calls himself the Conservative Voice and his show a Conservative University. If conservatism doesn’t matter, does that mean his radio program doesn’t matter? That Rush doesn’t matter? I wonder, does Rush himself feel that conservatism doesn’t matter anymore?

He still can’t say the truthful words: “Trump is not a conservative.” If conservatism doesn’t matter, why can’t he say this? It couldn’t be a bad thing that Trump isn’t conservative if it doesn’t matter, right? So that means it must be a good thing. Why not start celebrating the absence of conservatism in Trump? Really hammer it home that conservatism doesn’t matter and is in fact evil. The absence of conservatism is leftism, so why not champion leftism and Trump’s leftist policies?

He says Trump makes people feel good and is an ideal to them. Well we don’t elect a feeling or an ideal to office, we elect a man. And that man will enact policies.

Trump recently said he will put crony capitalism into overdrive, far beyond what even Barack Obama has done. He is going to start with the ethanol subsides, since that will buy him votes in Iowa.

Will people still have that good feeling Trump gives them when prices for everything go up do to Trump? Of course, just like those sitting in gulags still thought well of Stalin, saying “If only he knew I was in here, he would save me.”

Rush spent some time talking about how he is enjoying the schadenfreude of his establishment acquaintances and their fear that Trump will deprive them of their chairmanships. This is the “It’s a really big deal, more huge than conservatism.” he keeps talking about. I care about the woes of his establishment acquaintances as much as I care to see a romantic comedy about Goebbels’ love life. I wonder if Rush’s enjoyment of seeing this outweighs his love of the country. With the recent ethanol subsidies issue, Trump promised to ramp up the gravy train, not end it. Trump will take good care of the establishment and they are even now calling him on the phone and saying they can make deals with Trump. It is just bizarre to see Rush so out of touch. He was all over Obama pointing out exactly what he would do to America if elected, but he says nothing about what Trump will do. Does that no longer matter to Rush? It will be to late to do if Trump becomes the nominee, now is the time.

Rush also talks about how he loves analyzing the phenomenon of people turning Trump into an idol. Didn’t he get enough of this with Obama? This phenomenon is nothing new, it happened in the Roman empire and with Stalin. People have to worship something. Trump is anti-Jesus. Someone on FR yesterday pointed me to someone’s post who also expresses a public rejection of Jesus. This person embraces Trump. It isn’t complicated, those who reject God want to worship a man. Many Americans chose Obama and they have now moved to Trump. When you worship a human, everything they do is perfect, you will see nothing about them as bad. They will feel like your savior, just having them in charge of you will mean that everything will finally be great again. What they actually do and who they actually are means nothing to you. Since they need to worship someone, having this person to worship is more important then sitting in a gulag as the very result of the one they worship. I wonder if Rush’s enjoyment of analyzing this is more important to him then the country. Trump publicly rejects Jesus. America makes him their idol-king. God publicly rejects America.

Rush takes the call of a little boy who loves Trump. Reminds me of those leftist ads that exploit children by having them pretend to be a sad piece of garbage that wasn’t recycled. “He builds magnificent buildings.” Trump builds casinos, disreputable places that turn a town into a slum. I’m glad Rush was able to send his books to the little boy. Perhaps he can read about how America used to be great while Trump promises to ramp up leftism even further than Barack Obama has (Trump actually said this on TV when he was in Iowa). Maybe when the boy grows up he can live in the neighborhood next to a casino.

Nice summary of today's show. There was a time when Rush would tell his audience that conservatism wins every time it's tried but now when it matters so much he wants to dance around on the head of a pin.
