Trump’s Immigration Position in 2013 Was Verbatim the Same as Rubio’s Current Position

Just like all the other conservative positions that Donald Trump allegedly holds, the evidence is mounting that he has been an immigration hardliner for about five minutes. Courtesy of Ann Coulter, who somehow thought this would help Trump, here is a tweet from Donald Trump in 2013, explaining that his position is exactly the same as Marco Rubio's:

Trump said Wednesday in an interview with CNN's Dana Bash that as president he would deport all undocumented immigrants and then allow the "good ones" to reenter the country through an "expedited process" and live in the U.S. legally, though not as citizens.

"Legal status," Trump suggested. "We got to move 'em out, we're going to move 'em back in if they're really good people."

Trump's stated policy is better than nothing but it ain't what some around here say it is.

It’s amnesty. Thats the only word for it. We could save millions if not billions and avoid the creation of more government agencies by simply leaving them here to begin with.

And what happens when liberal judges get involved and then reopen the border because his big beautiful door leaves a legal space large enough to strap rockets on and fly Jupiter through?

They will start rewriting law as usual to allow for family reunification again and since most illegals are by definition, undocumented, each could have some YUGGGEEE families indeed.

Square one with only more govt and debt as a result.

Lessee if the Chamber of Commerce endorses him. That should settle things.

But it won't.

They will. And I agree it won’t. It will only result in more creative justifications.

Leon H Wolf fired Daniel Horowitz(now at conservative review) because Leon alleged he wanted to starve brown children.

The Sarah Palin-despising Wolf is lying. In 2010, Trump wrote a book Time to Get Tough" in which he unleashed immigration proposals that are 80% of what he proposed last year, with the remaining 20% written by Sen. Jeff Sessions. Here is the intro to his chapter on immigration:

Note that the $113 billion figure is from FAIR, who the SPLC calls a "hate group." Democrats and the GOPe refuse to use that figure, so it is very significant Trump accepts it, and also later refers top "perhaps 30 million" illegals, instead of the ridiculous 12 million RAT/RINO-approved figure.

I wasn’t aware Trump had any power in 2013 or an official position.

Man these guys at Redstate are smart. Their fat little fingers are cranking out the TDS in overdrive.

Trying my best to avoid any personal attacks on Trump or any of his supporters.

Trump is a really charismatic guy. He's likable. He says what a lot of conservatives think. He's certainly not afraid to step outside the confines of political correctness. You can tell he loves America, and wants it to be great, which is 180 degrees away from Obama.

I can see why a lot of people support him.

However (you knew it was coming)...

We mock a lot of voters who voted for Obama based on his legend, based on his supposed oratory skills, based on his uniqueness, and then were shocked when he began implementing policies and pushing for measures that were completely socialist.

We mock those voters because all of the signs were there. Obama's past, his books, his associations, his prior statements were there for everyone to see, but were ignored.

The signs are there for Trump, too. I'm not saying he's a socialist, but he is obviously far less conservative than anyone any of you Trump supporters would side with if it weren't "The Donald".

I hope, for everyone's sake, that if Trump is elected, his supporters don't find themselves, 2 years into his presidency, shocked at the liberal policies and measures being implemented.

The signs are there.

One big difference between Trump and Obama is that Trump has a record of accomplishment.

One big difference between Trump and Obama is that Trump has a record of accomplishment.

Being elected as President of the U.S., twice, is an accomplishment.

Passing Obamacare is an accomplishment.

Successfully championing gay marriage is an accomplishment.

There are very few aspects of Obama's "fundamental transformation" of America that he hasn't accomplished.

"Accomplishment" is great as long as you are accomplishing the right things.

This is true. Obama has indeed been the transformative president that he promised to be.

And I am afraid there’s no turning back, at least in the next fifty years.

Well said. He is a nasty, uncouth man. Looks like the presidency is for sale these days. First president to build a strip club in a Casino in Atlantic City, to give an interview on the Howard Stern Show about the size of his genitalia , give tons of money to people that helped create the mess this country is in (Pelosi, Reid, Schumer ...remember Schumer on immigration?) the Clintons. All politicians that opposed everything he claims to be running on today.
