Sarah Palin's Endorsement Speech
My Fetid Mind | January 19th, 2016 | Mariner

Posted on 01/19/2016 4:41:32 PM PST by Mariner

I just finished watching Sarah Palin's endorsement of Donald Trump and I have some observations.

Sarah Palin is a rhetorical genius. Like her or not, she's really good at political rhetoric.

And, I hope Trump is PAYING her, she's worth $5mil a month during the primaries so hopefully he'll be paying her at least $3mil/month.

This endorsement matters. She bring more "blue collar" credibility and conservative "good enough" to put all other GOP challengers back on their heels looking for life support.

This endorsement likely is the death knell for the Cruz campaign. I think it now means Trump will win Iowa, something I was sure he had locked up. I even contended aggressively with fellow Freepers on this matter. I considered it an illusion that anyone besides Cruz could win Iowa, but now I believe it will be Trump.

And Sarah Palin will be the reason.

Without Iowa, Cruz has no campaign.

Flame away, but do as well as you can to keep it civil.

"I think Cruz was in trouble anyway. Too many issues, and the qualification issue is a deal breaker for 25% or so, which fraction can only grow."

You're right on that. I think her endorsement is a big deal in the short term though. Cruz was on a standing 8 count and she pulled the rug right out from under him. It can only help Trump in Iowa.

Sarah's endorsement was hard hitting and from the heart. She even got thumbs up from some of the lame-streamers.

I think now Trump will win Iowa and New Hampshire. If he wins both, he likely will run the table.

Palin is there to help him win Iowa.

I’m guessing we won’t hear much out of Palin after Iowa
until much later in the campaign.

Endorsing a mercurial populist with zero conservative credentials, who pats Christians condescendingly on the head while insulting their intelligence ....

You got that right.

Trump has said several times that he really wants to win Iowa.

He proved that he meant it today.

Plus the Republican governor of Iowa just said he hoped Cruz was defeated in Iowa. That’s got to hurt.

Maybe Cruz can make it up in New York.

No, no, you’ve got it all wrong!
Sarah is actually still for Cruz, she just realizes that her endorsement of him would only harm his campaign. It’s a brilliant, patriotic move.

That’s the ticket!

I know you are trying to be fair, but your balance is off.

Have you asked some of the real unkind people on this thread to reach out?

It is going to be virtually impossible to try and make people be nice. That might get better after February 1st.

Or it might not.

“Cruz should be AG”

That’s about as good as it’s gonna get for him.

“But Ted Cruz loves Palin. Is Ted a bad judge of character?”

Senator Cruz is a much better person and more forgiving than I am, he has much more class. I’m not vindictive but I’m also not forgiving and I have a long and good memory.

I think bottom line, Palin’s like some of the rest of us— we are really really tired of losing. For once, just once, we see a YUGE movement coming at us and a spark of hope rises up, that just possibly, this one time, just maybe, we can WIN. Like Trump says, it’s been so long since we’ve won anything. The movement we see and sense is America winning again. There is no such movement behind Cruz, he just hasn’t inspired America to win again (not yet, anyway).

"Have you asked some of the real unkind people on this thread to reach out?"

You are correct in saying that I'm trying to be fair.

Most of the unkind statements I've seen from the Cruz supporter, so far, have been directed and Palin and/or Trump.

I don't recall a dilberate and direct shot a fellow Freeper, but if I missed one I apologize.

I got a bit annoyed with her, but then female voices that are screechy or high pitched tend to do that to me. But aside from that, I really felt like she was down talking to Joe six-pack. Maybe she just doesn’t know the comprehension level of the entire audience and wants to make sure that everybody clearly understands what she’s implying. I don’t generally get annoyed with her speeches, but this one bothered me for some reason.>>> great communicators use 2 syllable words at a 5th grade level. easy to hear for both the college educated, kids and everyone in between. listen to churchill. blod sweat tears. we will fight them in the trenches...

I watched her tonight and was amazed. I don’t recall ever paying much attention to her when McCain was running since I could not vote for him period. My son loved her and raved about her all the time.

Tonight I could see why. She was on fire, not afraid to get down and dirty, demand people wake up and name names. Amazing woman.
