Chris Christie: Ted Cruz ‘Asinine,’ ‘Consummate Washington Insider
Breitbart ^ | 1/18/16 | Charlie Spiering

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie joined the throng condemning Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 97% after he criticized "New York values" in the Fox Business debate.

"I think it was a very, very ill-advised thing for Ted to say," Christie said in an interview with TIME. "You want to be President of the United States, you have to unite this country. And for him to somehow be implying that certain values are more appropriate, more American, depending upon what region of the country you're from, is to me just asinine."

But Christie had additional criticism for Cruz, painting him as an inside politician with Washington D.C. values and an Ivy League education.

"I think Ted once again is trying to be Mr. Ivy League cute. He's Harvard and Princeton, he's federal court clerkships, he's government jobs, and somehow he's an outsider?" Christie asked. "If you took his name off and you put that résumé down, that would look like the consummate Washington insider."

Does this (by Christie) qualify for the “piling on” label?

All values are equally valid to the Left.

After 9/11, my Leftist coworker defended Islam by saying, “They just have a different culture.”

Even Christie gets it.

He's not an outsider. It's another insider con job. Cruz and his wife both were GOPhers for the Bush dynasty, and being bankrolled by a company which has zero ethics and morals. In fact Goldman Sachs was just fined BILLION for fraud. Then we find they attempted to play a shell games with the money.

Having an Ivy League education is "cute"?

Christie is trying to be VP. His big problem is endorsing the confirmation of Sonia Sotomayor to SCOTUS. You can’t make that up. She is the most doctrinaire scocialist ever on Scotus. She is an obama whore on every liberal and devising unconstitutional case. He is totally finished— HE ENDORSED HER CONFIRMATION!!

Christie is trying to be VP.

Right, he's trying to hitch up to something, but he's right. Trying to label Cruz as an outsider is a D.C. con job.

This is pretty funny coming from the guy who single-handedly put 0bama back in the WH in 2012 ........

He had hugs and a bromance for 0bama and mostly shunned Romney.

Yesterday I though Kasich, today I’m thinking Christie, but I’ve never thought Cruz was an option for VP — even though he’s my secondary for the nomination.

Cruz would serve the country better as an ally of POTUS serving as Senate Majority leader or main go to guy for judicial nominees.

It would be best for Cruz to find a graceful exit at this point. He’s pushing his brand too far and is only going to damage his future. He is getting into the area of too much negative attention and might not be able to recover in time for a a political future in main stream politics.

.....then again, Trump has gone "full McConnell" on Cruz now anyway

Yes he has! Then again, Trump and "next Speaker" McConnell are best of buds and go way back .....

It would. Take four years helping Jeff Sessions clean out the DC sewer (US Senate), and in a rational, dignified way, get the Natural Born Citizen situation sorted out. And pay off his loans from Citibank and Goldman Sachs. And stop asking us for money multiple times a day for his "grass roots" campaign.

Is that another one of those fake tweets that got Glenn Beck in so much trouble?

I ask because it doesn't have the blue checkmark beside his name.

Not much anymore. Was impressed up until his keynote at the 2012 convention and embrace of Obama. He was not afraid of the Democrats and pushed his agenda forward, selling it to the public and forcing the hand of his political opposition. He was very effective. Something we’ve seen little of on the Republican side since the 90s. Since then, I can’t list much to like about him and his more recent track record. It became clear at the convention that his keynote was not an introduction of Romney and advocate of the ticket to beat Obama, but rather a me-me-me speech to promote his own career escalation.
