I'm guessing Loretta Lynn, too.

And, regardless of what some may think, I believe it would be a powerful celebrity endorsement in the rural midwest.

I've never got the whole notion of celebrity endorsements, but I suppose they matter to some people.

I still have it in the back of my mind that Roberts was blackmailed. Of course, knowing that Harriet Miers was Bush 43's first choice, I should have been more suspicious. (unless I'm mixed up and that was the Alito nomination).

There have been a few things with Cruz that have caused me to shake my head.

You’re all wrong - he’s going to get the Iowa Gov. endorsement. Game changer as it will push him from the pack (Cruz) in Iowa polls (more than he’s already doing).

“Trump could announce a pending endorsement from the Iowa governor, who was recently spotted wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat after a hunting jaunt with Trump’s son.

This is the most likely occurence, but stay tuned to hear what Mr. Trump is going to share.”

Isn’t Branstad a Jebbie stalwart?

You people are smoking something wild if you think Palin will come anywhere near Trump after he went left with his attacks on Cruz. That crap isn’t going to work and Palin will be with Mark Levin on this.

As for announcements, I see 3 possibilities based on other rumors I am hearing:

(1) Mike Huckabee suspends his campaign and endorses Trump in IA to spite the people that abandoned him since his ego is about as big as Trump’s

or

(2) Willie Robertson to counter Phil Roberson’s endorsement of Cruz

or

(3) Trump’s going to continue the false narrative on “NY Values” debate by inviting some Iowan that was involved with the 9/11 events such as a former NYPD or NYFD worker who will tell their story and endorse Trump or whatever.

I tend to think it’s the 3rd and is being used as an attempt to continue the false attacks because Trump thinks he won the argument, and by using an Iowan that somehow it will give him more credibility there.

It will be one of these.

Branstad and the IA GOPe are unofficially behind Christie but won’t come out publically because Christie’s numbers were low and they were waiting to see if he would challenge Rubio there for the Establishment spot.

“...Big Conservative endorsement is what fits here. We shall see...”

Sure enough.

I’ll be glad when this is all done and over with - b/c it is getting rather crazy around here ... I’ve never seen FReepers at each others throats to this extent.

I think you are probably correct. Gov. Branstad has also been knocking Cruz lately. Makes sense he would get on the Trump Train now.

No Establishment politician such as Branstad is going to touch Trump with a ten-foot-poll. Huckabee is all in until the caucus. His endorsement does nothing for Trump. Him staying in the race till the caucus to split a few percentage points of the evangelical vote from Cruz is his gift to Trump. Even 1% of the vote to Huckabee could be the difference in a tight race.

There really is nobody else but Palin that makes sense as a major announcement that would move Iowa numbers for Trump. Nobody.

If you’ve been following the tea leaves closely in Palin world, it’s obvious she’s in big for Trump. Her daughter and sister supports Trump. Palin and Trump had a meeting in the Capitol during the Iran rally in September. She supported his muslim ban and has written many supportive comments on Facebook including right after he announced in June.

Now I see Branstad has said recently he isn’t endorsing anybody. I obviously know nothing. LOL.
