Limbaugh is a rare specimen of a businessman. He gets
paid for vocalizing his politics, he mixes business with
pleasure and is paid handsomely for it. What you don’t
apparently understand is his priorities. His number one
political priority is to defeat liberalism, NOT to promote
one non-liberal candidate over another. Rush will defend the
conservative against the GOPe and the GOPe against the
Democrats. Unlike many here he will vote GOPe if he has to.
Yes, Limbaugh has a preference and it will usually be the
most conservative candidate. In this cycle he shows the
most love to Cruz and Trump. I would submit that the
reason for this has as much to do with their enemies as it
does with them. To publicly promote one over the other
at this point would be a bad business move on Limbaugh’s
part and he knows it.

If you think I am wrong on this then you are probably a
part time Limbaugh listener and definitely not a
listener since 1985.

Well, that last premise is faulty; Trump is in no way a conservative. He's a progressive big-government statist.

As far as Limbaugh's priorities go, he used to say his primary goal was to support conservatism. When he started to pimp Trump, I noticed he changed his tune a little and said he was in it to defeat the Democrats.

" Rush will defend the conservative against the GOPe and the GOPe against the Democrats. Unlike many here he will vote GOPe if he has to."

Unlike me, because I'm done selling my soul to put liberals in office while pretending the outcome will be anything but disastrous. Ask yourself just what the GOPe has done for you, or what they've done to defeat Obama.

Answer: nothing. They might as well have Ds behind their names.

"Yes, Limbaugh has a preference and it will usually be the most conservative candidate. In this cycle he shows the most love to Cruz and Trump. "

If Rush's preference is the most conservative, he wouldn't have made his show into a Trump infomercial.

The last straw for me came when I heard him openly mock and deride a caller who laid out Trump's liberal stances. I knew then he wasn't going to be able to cover this primary objectively.

"I would submit that the reason for this has as much to do with their enemies as it does with them. To publicly promote one over the other at this point would be a bad business move on Limbaugh’s part and he knows it."

Again, your entire premise here is wrong. You lump Cruz and Trump together as though they're the same, both conservative. They are 180 degrees from one another. Trump the progressive has openly come out against Cruz from the left, and he has the left standing with him on it.

"If you think I am wrong on this then you are probably a part time Limbaugh listener and definitely not a listener since 1985."

You're clearly wrong because you don't even understand Trump's basic nature.

As far as me not being a longtime listener, quit with the fangirling. Up until Rush's Trump love affair, I listened pretty regularly, but that's irrelevant. 1985? Good grief, of course I wasn't listening then...I wss twenty and politics was the last thing on my mind.

I don't allow talk radio hosts to mold my opinions. I listen to the extent that they agree with the opinions I already have. I believe Levin is the most honest of them. As he said the other night, the rest of them shy away from speaking the truth about Trump, even though all of them are aware of it. I don't have any time for that.
