“The Sunday Morning Bray”, by Bray!

Psalm 127:1 Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

Since I called this race six months ago predicting it would be Trump and Cruz when everyone else was for Bush/Perry/Walker it is time to break down the two candidates before the actual voting occurs. I do not carry the baggage of working for an outlet or live in the Corridor or am even a Repub; it gives an objectivity and freedom none of the Echo Chamber has. If either one of them were to be President this country would be blessed beyond what we deserve. We are a country who has turned our backs on God and deserve the promised curses we are experiencing, but God loves America in spite of America.

Donald Trump is my favorite and the favorite to win. He is using tactics which have never been tried in modern politics and has become a wildfire. He speaks the truth from his heart without a script or teleprompter to deliver some of the most interesting and entertaining speeches of the trail while he builds his movement. His biggest question is does he understand how to get the people out to the polls although it appears he may be able to do it with simply mass appeal and enough voters wanting to blow up the corrupt system.

The latest attacks are the New York liberal label which is the attack he has had from day one. Of course he was considered a liberal growing up by Conservative standards, but he did support Ronald Reagan and as a businessman he had to toe a pretty fine line. To become the hotel magnate in the NE as well as a Hollywierd star you would have to tone down your politics as many Conservative stars have learned. Hollywood is one of the most intolerant places on the planet and enforced with Blacklists which would make McCarthy blush. As a reality star he was not subject to as much of it however he had to play the game to be accepted at NBC.

What he has learned is unique and is a marketing genius. He understands how this works and is negotiating a deal with the American people on the world stage. He has broken down all of the election management rules and formulas and is the only person who has ever tried what he is attempting to do. He is taking the original Sarah Palin and Tea Party movements and turning them into not so much a philosophical movement as a blow the whole thing up and start over campaign. He will truly have no strings or attachments and the freedom to go whichever way he believes this country needs. He will be a regular schmo with exceptional capitalistic instincts at the helm delegating his vision for what America should look like. He is a capitalist who has become a Conservative and learning what those values and theories are and more geared to the economic side than the social.

If I were to just pick a President it would be Ted Cruz. He is doing exactly what I said he would do and his ground game will magnify his poll numbers. Whether he can overcome some amazing crowd following is the question, but we are so blessed to have two very good candidates. Cruz is the absolute Conservative who has fought against the District of Corruption from the day he walked in. His election was a lesson in ground campaigns which was what my groups did to win numerous elections we had no chance of winning. He is making his spider webs throughout Iowa and the South and will be tough to beat even for Trump. He is an absolute genius on the ground and rewriting those tired systems the GOP uses.

Cruz is someone who is fearless and willing to take on the establishment only from a more combative style than a velvet hammer. He is articulate to a fault although certainly does not have the name recognition or history that the Donald has. In my perfect world he would be the Trump VP and run the Senate for 4 years, KABOOM; while coaching Trump and learning how a Capitalist thinks and organizes before taking control.

My biggest hesitation about Cruz is really twofold. First is his cozy relationship with Goldman Sachs. How does the most Conservative person to come along in our lifetime have a wife who is top manager at the worst bank on the planet? This bank is the one that orchestrated the last meltdown and whose CEO became the head of the Obama financial arm. This bank has some of the most hardcore Communist thinkers on the planet with the likes of Robert Ruben, Rahm Emanuel, Corzine, Mark Patterson who wrote TARP and directed the $10 Billion GS bailout. GSachs is at the heart of every crony capitalist bailout and termed the phrase, too big to fail. This is not Conservatism and why the cozy relationship, campaign cash and wife on temporary leave from an upper management position? This is what looks like another crony relationship whether it is or is not.

The other issue he needs to explain is the Birther issue. Most of America does not understand what Natural Born Citizen means or how it relates to being elected as President. It sounds like you must be born in America or has an exception such as a soldier or minister overseas. Most do not know or understand there is a difference between citizen and natural born citizen. He needs to take five minutes to explain why he is a natural born citizen so the entire country will know and put it to rest. His laughing it off at the debate was a missed opportunity to explain it to 20 million people.

Both Cruz and Trump are incredibly talented candidates and will do amazing jobs for the country. Cruz minus his relationship with Goldman Sachs is the purist of the two although working in politics in Texas is an easier place to be a Conservative. With Trump you have a once in a lifetime opportunity to send a nuclear bomb to DC and enjoy the mushroom cloud. There are no structures in place to keep him under control or to muzzle his mouth to conform to DC groupthink. To witness an average Joe who happens to be extremely talented, wealthy and competent would bring real change and begin to tear corruption at its roots since nobody can bribe or bully him.

As a non-affiliated voter and will not be voting I believe I bring an objectivity no other pundit has. I have predicted it exactly how it turned out just as I did with Romney and Bush twice. This is going to be a big win for Trump and likely he chooses Cruz for his VP. It is time for a true Capitalist who has built business after business with tough negotiations and an abrasive personality which you just have to love. His speaking from the heart at the debate was new and something America is not used to and will react positively. His crossover appeal has just touched the tip of the iceberg as people fed up from both parties will unite.

If these two can team up they will teach each lessons the other is weak at and turn Cruz into a candidate that Reagan only dreamed. He does not understand Capitalism in a way someone who has had to learn it on the street. Likewise Cruz can teach Trump why social conservatism is as important as fiscal, since you cannot have one without the other. If these two after the fights are over can unify they can begin to turn this ship around and meld the Country back into the gleaming city on the hill. The world is searching for their lighthouse in the storm.

Pray America wakes

Note: The above opinion is not necessarily my own, but FReeper Bray’s. If you wish to discuss this, please ping Bray.

Here’s my rant about the 2016 election and the rise of Trump:

What Washington DC is full of:

Lawyers.

Liberal lawyers.

Conservative lawyers.

Republican lawyers and democrat lawyers, but all are lawyers.

Another way to pronounce lawyer would be LIAR.

I’m tired of voting for liars who CLAIM this and that to get elected but once in and safe vote their own interest or the Chamber of Commerce’s interest or the Hollywood liberals interest or that of the Sierra Club or Wall Street brokers BUT NVER We The People.

They vote to take our money, take our jobs, take our property, take our land, take our doctors, take our health care, take our guns, take our coal, take our cheap oil, take our fast cars, take our fun, take our way of life, take our religion, too. Take, take, take is all lawyers do. UNLESS they are giving freebies away to get reelected or just because the freeloaders might get angry.

Well, we are now the angry ones!

And that is probably the biggest reason Trump is doing so well.

AND... He is NOT a lawyer.

Morning AB, All,

As always, thank you for doing this thread AB. Thank Bray for his weekly wisdom, thank yon commenters for thoughtful input and most of all, thank God that I am still alive.

Or something.

I went to something called the “Volunteer Appreciation Dinner” at my church. Since I sing in the choir (which I will be doing at the 10 am mass this morning) I am allowed a free meal.

This sort of thing is generally boring but hey, I live alone and I have to socialize or I’ll go nuts. So I arranged for me to attend with another choir member.

They had a DJ last night who was terrific. Both of the parish priests attended and stayed the entire evening. Father Tom Flowers even got up and danced with someone but not to worry, it was NOT me.

I, ahem, danced and spent much of the night with THE DJ!

Heh.

Here’s the thing, I do dance, people, and am pretty damn good at it too. But seven years ago I had a quadruple bypass and my legs have questionable circulation. Dancing is the best thing for my legs but I am limited. Walking is my exercise of choice but oh how I love to dance.

I have not danced, at least in any public setting, FOR TEN YEARS!

Lack of opportunity and lack of a dance partner. My husband, God love, simply could NOT dance but you know….weddings and stuff.

So I watched everybody dancing and you can bring your spouses to this thing only I have no spouse. I prayed, yeah I was in the church hall so why not pray? But I prayed that somebody would ask me to dance. I just wanted so bad to go out and dance and yes I have no problem with dancing with women, fast dances, that kind of thing. But what, I’m going to go out and just dance with some woman out there?

I even felt sad for a little bit cause no one asked me to dance but smile here, why the hell should they?

Anyway, the DJ sat at our table and he’s calling door prize numbers and spinning records and finally he reaches over the table, extends his arm…AND ASKS ME TO DANCE!

So we went out on the dance floor, then filled with people. We dance a bit and yeah, I smile at the memory, but the entire choir cheered me on cause once I got started I was moving.

If you like my dancing then good. Cause the entire time I am dancing the blood is being pumped through my legs (they took a big vein out of my leg and put it in my heart…hence leg issues but hey, my heart works!) and it feels good. It’s hard to dance for a long time because the legs start to hurt after a while but hey, I did it, me and the DJ!

At some point the DJ goes over cause he’s on a roll, enjoying our dance and hey, that’s his job, getting people on the floor (his hair style was EXACTLY like Rod Stewart, heh), and puts on the song….get this…”MUSTANG SALLY”.

He then comes back out on the floor and however it came to be yon readers but it always happens to me, everybody leaves the floor!

So it’s me and the DJ, heh….AND I DANCED THROUGH THE ENTIRE SONG!

Heh.

I was exhausted after the dance but there I was, dancing on the dance floor with the DJ to Mustang Sally. Ah the memories.

Lookit, the DJ was married, there was nothing there but fun, but Lord I had a good time.

Now I want, desperately, to slow dance with a man.

Someday I suppose.

With the possible exception of the Sussex county lawyer who is helping me with my crime of building a fence on somebody else’s land, I HATE ALL LAWYERS.

And I’m not real sure about the Sussex county guy until he solves my crime.

Is there any way to watch these two shows online?

Thanks for posting the thread and the full measure link. The “Donald” has been hot an getting hotter.Got a lot of interesting comments yesterday at our monthly REC Republican meeting.
Looks like the GOPe is coming around.
They may realize that if they try and dump us/Trump they will lose everything instead of just their favorite donor or haley barbour type.
They may be settling for half a loaf too early to say.

I worked for lawyers for 35 years. Most were decent individuals. Sure, there are bad apples, but there are bad apples in every profession. It’s just that bad lawyers and bad doctors get the most publicity.

Good point, but I think all the bad lawyers run for office.

Think about it, would a successful lawyer with a good practice and lots of clients throw it all way?

No, the crappy ones are forced to run for office. These are also the ones who are most adapt at lying. Why not make a living by that?

Kasich was fast as lightnin'

Agreed. I’d like to see it kept civil.

But I also understand there is an election coming up; and we’re still choosing candidates.

People are passionate about their choices.

All I ask is folks be civil. You don’t have to agree, certainly, but no personal attacks, right? Jim’s rules.

One way is to NOT call people Trumpbots, Cruzbots, or any of those names...

Brilliant job as usual.Extremely well written. The only thing I would add is that both Cruzs,Ted and Heidi have some extreme jeopardy in trying to explain her affiliation with the CFR/Goldman, the TPP and you already mentioned the loans.

.......................

What he has learned is unique and is a marketing genius.

The comment above is why Trump will win and was echoed by a higher up Republican yesterday as we had lunch. It seems the Republican party is beginning to "get" Trump and he may ineveitably be accepted. ,It's still to early to say but the signs are encouraging.

What few realize and the more involved in politics you get the further away you get from marketing is that most people don't vote like we the .1 of 1% will here. Most people don't have a clue what we are doing here on FR, what we are talking about, or even who the VP of the US is.

It takes a marketing genius to win elections.

Thank God Trump is one.
