Ben Carson=Surgeon General?

Perhaps, but I think a better and more powerful position would be health care czar

Besides recognizing that a sovereign nation needs borders (not undocumented boarders) and not be a lawyer, I would prefer that the next President of the United States eliminate all positions in the federal government that include the word "Czar" in the title.

Imperial Russia used to have Czars. That country disappeared and was replaced by the Soviet Union, which is also gone.

Now, Baraq Obama has tried to use economic policies that helped make the Soviet Union what it is today (not there any more), but it is time to stop using terms and titles associated more with totalitarian forms of government and start using only titles associated with representative republics or democracies.

Do you know why lawyers hate lawyer jokes?

Because nobody else thinks they are jokes!

On Gitmo, I do think it is cruel and unusual punishment to keep those inmates in there for life without a trail.

They should all be executed immediately.

That’s about the humane-ist way to deal with the Islamofascists.

THEN they can close it.

Could you imagine the number of heads that would explode if Trump were sworn in?

Life without a trail is hard to walk. Of course I meant TRIAL.

It seems the Republican party is beginning to "get" Trump and he may ineveitably be accepted. ,It's still to early to say but the signs are encouraging.

It is hard to determine who the GOPe dislikes more, Trump or Cruz. IMO they want to destroy them both to pave the way for Rubio or Bush. The GOPe will fan the flames seeing this as an opportunity to take them both out.

Trump and Cruz are going at one another like two scorpions in a bottle. Whoever emerges will be damaged to one degree or another. It opens the way for the GOPe. I wish the Trump/Cruz battle happened a little later in the race.

Two more weeks to Iowa. Once some elections are past us I think the rhetoric will die down.

Do tell!

OK, but this is a family thread. Mothers, cover the kiddies eyes.

In 1972, Bernie Sanders wrote an essay for the Vermont Freeman, an alternative newspaper. The article, called, "Man-and-Woman," is a commentary on gender roles.

Sanders wrote:

"A man goes home and masturbates his typical fantasy. A woman on her knees, a woman tied up, a woman abused.

"A woman enjoys intercourse with her man, as she fantasizes being raped by 3 men simultaneously.

"The man and woman get dressed up on Sunday, and go to Church, or maybe to their 'revolutionary' political meeting.

"Have you ever looked at the Stag, Man, Hero, Tough magazines on the shelf of your local bookstore? Do you know why the newspaper with the articles like 'Girl 12 raped by 14 men' sell so well? To what in us are they appealing?"

You asked for it, you got it, Toyota.

What are you fixing for dinner today?

Well, Rodguy got me obsessing on Chinese food now. I have some chicken breasts in the freezer, might just craft myself up some Hot and Spicy Chicken in Garlic Sauce.

“I am starting to avoid this site because of the infighting.”

I don’t avoid the site, but I’ve learned who some of the posters are and have started ignoring their threads and skipping over their posts. I understand that a person can be enamored by and want to support their candidate, but IMHO the vitriol has become ridiculous by a few against the supporters of a certain candidate.

I think a healthy and civilized discussion regarding the pros and cons of the candidates is great (I think that’s one of the purposes of this great site); however, there are some that don’t want to discuss, they just disparage the other candidate and their supporters. It does get tiresome, but, like I said earlier, I’ve been able to discern who they are and just skip over the threads they start and their posts when I see them in someone else’s thread - keeps the blood pressure down and from me posting something I might regret.
