Republican presidential contender Ted Cruz should be disqualified from the race because he isn’t a “natural-born citizen,†a fellow Texan claims in a “birther†challenge filed against the senator in a U.S. court.
Wanna bet this gets MUCH MORE airtime and attention than the suits against the kenyan/indonesian?
Hopefully this will be put on a fast track and we can get this silliness behind us.
Wouldn’t every registered republican have standing?
“Lack of standing” worked well for every other similar lawsuit brought in the past.
This country sometimes has the very best legal system that can be bought. Depends on who puts in the highest bid, gets the most justice.
And the justice system only defines what is “legal” or “illegal”, it does not define right and wrong.
Not using the Obama eligibility test.
Absulutely and that’s exactly why Trump is pushing it, to muddy up the water.
He knows full well that only if/after Cruz becomes President will the case be “ripe” for litigation and decision.
Disingenous for sure but then The Donald is hardly notorious for being a straight shooter.
Of course, wall to wall coverage. Of course Trump will get the benefit of this coverage!
Obama does have proof that he’s a US citizen,where he was born or even that Obama is his real name
Cruz should have taken the Donald’s advice and preemptively filed for a declaratory judgement.
This will drag on, hurting Cruz. And Cruz’s lawyers will want to take the same approach as Rubio’s. Try to get it dismissed for lack of standing, or on a technicality, or because suits against Obama were thrown out, or because prior presidents that may have been inelligible have served.
And none of it is going to cast Cruz as defender of the constitution.
That’s an easy bet :)

This seems to be much more of a big deal vs Obama’s questionable status.
There is not a judge in the country that wants to hear an elligibility case against a sitting president. The time to resolve this is now, before the elections.
Let's get this issue cleared up once and for all so that we can move forward.

Trump tried to warn Cruz and help him out. And now its starting. Its unfortunate.
That only works for Democrat candidates.
