That’s what we get for being distracted. :-)

My eyes are hurting from trying to follow the “live” thread while watching the debate. I’m waaaaay behind on the thread.
Doesn’t help that I need new computer glasses and they can’t seem to get them right. Just got a call today that the new ones had shown up but they were wrong AGAIN. My prescription is a horrible, complicated one and it takes the lab several tries to get them right. But it stinks having to wait and go half-blind in the meantime.
But I’m here as long as I can see without my eyes watering. LOL!

My prescription is awful too! I don’t think they train these guys right and then that stupid test where you have to chose one of two that look just alike? Grr. I fail every time and get glasses that don’t help at all!

So, since I’m near-sighted in one eye and sort of far sighted in the other, I go without or wear one contact to make bifocals without wearing them. LOL! If that makes ANY sense. :)

Good evening, radu....just got home with Mom for getting hair cuts. My sister has fed her and they are visiting and watching tv.

One big problem these days is people aren’t making the glasses any more. They type a few things into a computer and the computer makes them. The prescriptions for both lenses are put in together and they make both lenses.
That won’t work with mine. They have to be put in as separate orders because they’re VERY different. Putting them in as one order seems to confuse the computer or something because neither lens is close to correct.

But the lab still does something wrong a few times before they finally get it right. I hope they get it right next time because this has been going on for over a year! Had to get my eyes re-checked last month because they’ve changed during that year. They got my everyday glasses right on the first try but STILL can’t seem to get the computer glasses right, and they’re the pair I really need. *sigh*

Hey there, Kathy!
Sounds like you’re ready for a more relaxing evening since your sister has taken care of most of your mom’s things.
Has your sister recuperated from her trip?

She’s working on it. Her insides aren’t good yet, but she’s able to eat. And she just connected to my wireless internet from downstairs.

I sympathize with her and her insides, big time. The last time I flew, which was YEARS ago, I had similar problems. I still have problems when I travel long distances by vehicle but it’s not as bad.

Glad she’s able to eat. That’s the important thing. I hope she got a good night’s sleep last night and is rested up so she can fully enjoy her time with y’all.

Yes...and she wants to take over Mom while she’s here. She wants me to just have “me” time.

Yes, I was complaining about no snow. Got about 3 inches yesterday, so she landed to white instead of dirt.

When I got home tonight to pick up Mom, she said she had shoveled off another inch or so from the deck and thrown corn out for the ducks. She said this was the first time she ever shoveled snow.

Good morning Jinxie ((HUGS))

has a mandate to 'green the workforce'.

Are they a CA company? Seems they are trying to influence what goes on in the rest of the states. My brother started working for one that is trying support clients on the east coast. My brother said his company has decided ALL will be smoke-free (meaning no smokers whatsoever) by 2017. Seems discriminatory to me.

Our DIL recently started working for one in the IT field, but hasn't had any bombshells dropped on her other than they want her to travel to CA to attend the quarterly meetings.

Sorry to say, but 11 months will be the longest. My only caution, after all I've been going through, is to make sure you can afford the insurance.

Good morning night owl ((HUGS))

I didn’t see the debate last night; scrolled the channels but didn’t see it, so caught up on pings and went to bed.

Today, I’ll check the news to see what’s what on the debate.

Happy FRiday.

OMG! I had the same problem when I was forced (when the company’s limited providers via EyeMeds) to use a different provider. The MyEyeDr we used could never get my prescription right. I finally went back to our former one and paid out of pocket for new exam and lenses for my existing frames. So, I agree with Luvw, I don’t think some lab persons are trained properly.
