“No, Cruz is making a valid point - NY City is a hotbed of LIBERAL values. AND Trump has boasted of sharing those values not long ago. Remember - Trump was praising Hillary and Obama in 2009. That was 6.5 years ago...

NY Values. 80% for Obama in 2012.”

Wasn’t it Trump who said voters in Iowa were stupid?

Cruz has totally lost me when he attacked Trump like that.

Ah, so you were gung-ho Cruz up until the point where he cited Trump's own definition of New York values? Yeah, right.

Cruz comes across like the guy you had to punch out at the church picnic because your wife comes running up in tears because he tried to put his hands on her ass.

You are right but it is not a good topic to debate at a national debate. Cruz should not have gone there. It won’t help him is the point. Debating about New York is not going to help Cruz in the long run.

With regard to New York, I work in Manhattan and I'm already getting text messages from co-workers who are livid about what Cruz said about New York.

What we need to remember here is that Cruz is running for president of the United States of America. Not Iowa. Not Texas. Not just the South. I get that New York is typically a "blue" state but we should not be writing it off. We, as conservatives, should be working to win it over. As with any other "blue area."

Trump is already appealing to African Americans, Hispanics and other groups who normally vote Democrat. This is how we grow conservatism. Simply mocking and insulting the "other side" is no way to grow our cause.

Cruz really blew it tonight. Maybe he's great for Texas but I think he forfeited his right to lead this nation with those anti-NY comments.

And yes, there are MANY conservatives in and around New York. The elections are not 100-0% for the Democrats. They are more around 60-40%. When you get to many of the NYC suburbs, it's closer to 50-50. This part of the country can be turned red once again. It wasn't too long ago that Ronald Reagan swept all of these "red states."

We should not be writing them off.

Cruz has totally lost me when he attacked Trump like that. I saw Cruz as a more humble person. I think it was unnecessary.

It’s like that in just about any big city.

In smaller cities you feel more connected.

After living in Los Angeles for 20 years, I traveled up the coast to a small town named Carpenteria, California.

Walking down the street a passerby said hello as they passed and I nearly fell over.

You never see that in a big city. Well, very close to never.

It’s kind of a defense mechanism in a vast sea of people any one of which could be a real problem character. Best to stick to folks you know.

I’m in NC, but AM 700 comes in loud and clear.

BTW, for sports, I love listening to Dave Lapham. He sounds (and emotes — desperation when the Bengals have a turnover!) just like John Candy.

Lots of new yorkers live in other states but still love ny!

That doesn't mean they vote Republican. Nice try, though.
