Republican primary front-runner Donald Trump late Wednesday declined to attack Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in the wake of news that the Texas senator misreported campaign finances, but did acknowledge that it was a "very big thing."
"Well, I heard it's a big thing. I know nothing about it. But I hear it's a very big thing," Trump said in an interview on Bloomberg's "With All Due Respect." "I hope he solves it. I think he's a nice guy, and I hope he gets it solved."
Trump has previously attacked GOP primary rivals for being bought by big donors, flouting his personal wealth as an aegis against the corrupting influence of money in politics.

The reporting issue is nothing. Trump is being foolish.
Cruz needs to straighten this out. The last thing we need is another president owned by Goldman Sachs.
Keep an eye on Heidi. She is the one pulling the strings.
Obama would have done this I am sure this forum would blow it off
My isn't it fun how that works both ways. I mean I don't know the specifics but I heard it is a VERY BIG DEAL. /s
“Keep an eye on Heidi. She is the one pulling the strings.”
Give us all a break concern troll.
No doubt. The people going to the caucuses in Iowa will just slough off this news. I'm sure there isn't a one of those voters that hasn't had a million dollar loan or two from Goldman Sachs they've failed to properly report.
Let’s also not forget the Promised Press Conferences, revelations the mouth made about Obama’s birth Certificate investigation.
Perhaps he could hookup with Jerkaldo and they could re-examine Al Capone’s Vault for them...
I don’t like that woman for some reason. Not logical at all. Just a gut feeling.

It is nothing. DT is about to get what he is asking for. Teddy is going to knock him out.
And like everyone voter in Iowa has filed Business Bankruptcy and rolled 10 million of personal debt into it to cover up wasteful spending above one’s income. Because all Iowans have their own personal Jet and helo.
Donald sure doesn’t want to talk about issues does he?
Is it just me, or was there an outbreak of concern trolls signing up on FreeRepublic on or about August 15, 2015?
Trump is still #2 on my list behind Cruz, but his shtick is wearing thin. After eight years of the Obamas, I'd like to see our next President not be so petulant.
Aleast give Ted and Heidi credit. They paid their loan back instead of FILING BANKRUPTCY to avoid paying their DEBTS! Like the "Mouth"!
“Well, I heard it’s a big thing. I know nothing about it.
...
The truth is he knows nothing about it.
It’s not a big thing.
This is just Trump running it up the flag pole to see if anybody salutes.
What a weasel-ly, underhanded way to attack Cruz. Trump admits he knows nothing about the story, but still attacks it as a "very big thing," while throwing in the phrase "I heard" to avoid having to take personal responsibility for the attack.
This is very much a tactic The Donald uses, not attacking directly, but making the talking point available to others so THEY may pick up on and run with it, essentially giving fuel to those others, and supplying the matches, but not striking it himself.
Maybe the reporting issue is nothing, much like the “natural-born citizen” thing is nothing, but it ties the rivals up in knots for days or weeks while The Donald is out there blazing the way to new pastures and new vistas.
He was asked a question so he answered it.
And I can just see a Hillary campaign ad running against Cruz on this subject.
He learned to from his Friend Catie Couric. He’ll start with the “some people say” avenue of attack soon.
