Trump doesn't carry around sound system engineers with him. For crips sake, he goes to a different state/venue every night. Each venue has it's own sound people. If your going to have a major national event, you sure as hell better be testing the microphone/sound way prior to the event. This is not complex and sound/audio folks have been doing this for 150 years.
