WASHINGTON, D.C., January 13, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) - The next Republican president will "respect" different forms of marriages, including same-sex "marriages," South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley said in last night's Republican response to the State of the Union address.
"If we [Republicans] held the White House," she said, "we would respect differences in modern families, but we would also insist on respect for religious liberty as a cornerstone of our democracy."
Even the terminology "modern families" evokes the ABC sitcom featuring a homosexual couple raising a child.
The GOP has been uncertain how to respond to the Supreme Court's Obergefell v. Hodges case, with only one of the top-tier candidates - Ted Cruz - campaigning for a Constitutional amendment returning the issue to the states.
Many candidates and the GOP's most powerful policy makers have instead said the GOP must "move on" from the ruling, accepting the 5-4 decision as settled law but acting to grant some protections to those who have religious objections to participating in same-sex "marriage" ceremonies.
The speech by Haley, who was hand chosen for the response by the Republican Party's leadership, amplifies that decision to accept redefined marriage as the new normal.
She also agreed with President Obama that Muslims should be allowed to continue immigrating to the United States, calling on Americans to reject "the siren call of the angriest voices."
"There’s a tendency to falsely equate noise with results," she said. "We must resist that temptation."
She later admitted her remarks were directed at Republican presidential front runner Donald Trump.
She concluded by vowing that modern Republican policies will "keep America the greatest country in the history of man. And woman."
This makes one wonder if Nikki Haley plays for both teams or something. That RINO has got to go.
They don’t even care about their own power.
Nikki isn’t in a position to promise anything.
She will switch parties. Don’t you see she is uncomfortable with everything conservative?
I will never respect any such thing.
How depressing that the GOPe has gone full-on native. Not a dimes worth of difference between them and Democrats.
Good luck getting my vote ever again.

She is a tool.
The result of the Big Tent philosophy...
That did it for the GOP for me.
I will vote for Trump or Cruz. Anyone else, and I’m out.
And, the GOP in my state is RAT-lite. I have already given up voting for any mini-me Dorkbama the Muslims here also.
The sooner we establish a new party, the better.
There is no other hope.
The GOP is corrupt, dead, festering and putrid.
Boy, was she a disappointment!
Who the Hell chose her to give the response? Cripes- with ‘friends’ like her who needs enemies!
Nicky has clearly never had to share the bathroom with a mentally ill man and been told that its rights transcend her privacy, nor told that you must accommodate the homosexuals because their beliefs trump yours.
And all of this comes from giving any way to the LBGTA movement.
How cute, another divisive pol who is special simply because of her anatomy.
STFU foreigner.
She thinks she helped herself to VP? Good odds she won’t win reelection.
The point of no return was the nomination of Romney in 2012. This party is a revenant, a dead and malignant thing.
So Nikki is a ok with polygamy. Notice she uses the word "respect" not "tolerate".
