"According to Russian media, he died from apoplexy on January 10th, 2016. He was found dead after two days.
But at least two opposition members including Mr Andrey Malgin expressed their fears that Mr Pribylovsky was, in fact, murdered. Mrs. Anastasia Kirilenko, who was co-operative of Mr. Pribylovsky, revealed on her Facebook, that he worked on a new books about Vladimir Putin in his regime as well as 'who is who' in Ukrainian politics and business for Western audience."

Possible case of “criticide”?
This guy Putin is getting almost as bad as the Clintons!
Let me guess, he “violently” walked backwards into a ball-peen hammer?
Coroner’s verdict: suicide.
Has he cought up with the Clintons yet?
There will be a problem with establishing of a real cause of his death unless someone saw something or heard. It is not a murder like in a case of Mrs Politkovskaya... I think the regime has learnt its lesson.
I learned this name, "Pribylovsky", from the thread. He's hardly a "prominent" critic. In Russia there are people who are far more active as such. Mr. Pribylovsky is rather a reclusive liberal intellectual, taking into account that he had no money, as the article claims.
The Russian Wikipedia says also that the police returned those two computers and the media, something that the article fails to report.
If you want to follow the news about the Putin's opposition, focus your attention on Mr. Navalny instead.
If you believe Russia Wiki - good luck! No, they did not return. He told about it for Radio Svoboda. Yes, Mr. Navalny page is good for some information but it may not be sufficient for everyone.
Everyone can challenge usage of Prominent. He was prominent since his work and opinions are source for many Western experts in Russia. He was considered an expert on the Kremlin regime. He was often correct in his predictions regarding nominations in Kremlin. I do not see any reason to challenge accuracy of the description of his figure on Russian political scene as a prominent.
Thank you for critical reading of the article. I am still convinced it provides the best information you can find in English.

Found this prior article per Pribylovsky this morning. Interesting reading.
The Merriam-Webster's definition for prominent is as follows:
As for the Russian Wiki, I don't insist on its accuracy, still Mr. Pribylovsky bio isn't worth a research other than the Wiki, to my mind.
Mr. Plum in the Kitchen with the Candlestick.
Prominent, Non-Prominent, what does it matter? It might even be worse if this was a lesser known critic of the government, he wrote a book to equate the regime to a Kleptocracy, he could have been working on something else as well.
