Donald Trump Targets Ted Cruz [and it's helping Cruz]
Wall Street Journal ^ | January 10, 2016 | Heather Haddon and Janet Hook

Donald Trump is taking aim at Republican presidential rival Sen. Ted Cruz, a tactical shift that could be risky on two fronts: It may have come too late, and the Texas senator might actually be benefiting from the attacks......

For Mr. Cruz, being under attack by other Republicans is a badge of honor, another backer said. "It's a quasi-endorsement of Cruz to the grass roots," said Saul Anuzis, former Michigan GOP chairman.

Polls show a growing number of Trump backers see Mr. Cruz as their second choice. Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler said that when the campaign began, polls showed that only 4% of Trump backers saw his boss as their second choice. A new poll by NBC/SurveyMonkey finds that number has risen to 39%.

The latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll found that 66% of Trump voters said they would consider supporting Mr. Cruz -- far more than other major candidates....

I’ve been on and off the fence between Trump and Cruz. But when I saw Trumps rambling trashing of Cruz in the Iowa rally my opinion of him dropped considerably.

WRONG !

Well, what does the law say? So HOW does Ted Cruz's situation apply to this Law ?Citizenship Through Naturalization is different than Citizenship Through Parents, and you need to understand the requirements.
For a better understanding of both, go to those links.

Truly it is unkind to answer you since you do not even understand the things you post in response, prove the point that I have made. I will not do you the unkindness of responding again.

“...and that treat LEGAL Immigrants with the fairness and respect they deserve.”!!!!!?????

BS from Cruz. You and Cruz evidently don’t think Americans, in general, deserve fairness and respect. Why should Americans live their lives to just to satisfy immigrants.

Could you stop wasting your time with these asinine posts. I certainly don’t read them. I high-lighted the above because it so easy to break in and find more BS from you and Cruz.

“But when I saw Trumps rambling trashing of Cruz in the Iowa rally my opinion of him dropped considerably.”

What was he saying about Cruz? Reminding Iowans of Cruz’s voting for the Obama agenda whenever he gets a chance? His waffling on immigration?

Why is it that some people cringe when anyone says anything critical of Cruz? It is amazing to behold.

This “thou shall not criticize” Cruz meme is absolutely Obamaesque. We don’t elect kings. Cruz made his bed on TPA, H-1B and other issues. It’s 100% correct to call out on the actions of a sitting U. S. Senator. Cruz did far more damage enabling Obama’s TPA than any of Trump’s hot air ever did. Yet we’re not supposed to engage the issues? Nonsense.

He was going on and on about Cruz not being a citizen. This “birther” trap is something I would have told him to avoid. It will come back to haunt him when the media reminds voters that he was one of the ones pushing this issue against Obama, who many still love even though they aren’t committed to Hildabeast.

If the media reminds voters that Trump pushed the eligibility issue against Obama, it can only help him.

According to some, we now have two are are beyond criticism, Obama and Cruz.

Indeed, it is a quirky game. Especially, when dealing with such a large media driven audience.

Fox just released a poll showing 55% of the women asked think Bill Clinton respects women compared to 31% for Trump.

You have to consider the source, who did the polling, and what was the question. Fox does not like Trump.

Its so sad that you feel the need to either attack or post so large that the presentation obscures the material. I respect you for your service but not for your snap judgements about people based solely on whether they seem to support your positions. I am very careful in posting to give supporting links or state that something is an opinion.

I think as I have stated many times that Cruz is an excellent man and a resource for our country. Some of his positions have troubled me but in no way do I want him attacked or marginalized over the birth right citizen issue. I think that there is considerable support that the Founders and many judges established the requirement for a President/Vice president to be a natural born citizen requires him/her to be born of two American citizens. This has traditionally included birth in the USA but has been extended to those out of the country on our counties service.

There is no lying here no intent to distort. I think your posts sidestep the issue while establishing Ted Cruz’s citizenship they neglect the issue of natural born being defined as of two American citizen parents. That position is actually spelled out in some of the material you have posted. The literature is replete with people who have played fast & loose with the definitions, intermingling them fallaciously. So its easy to find quotes with that approach. If you return to the sources two citizen parents are always specified when the distinction between citizen, citizen at birth and natural born citizen are distinguished. Additionally the correspondence of the Founders at the time is clear in their intent.

My preference would be for the issue to be defined and congress and the parties to sign off on the standards that are so defined. The Founders were trying to protect our country from being damaged by leadership contaminated by foreign allegiances. If Obama had been held to the standard of two citizen parents a great deal of damage to America could have been avoided. If congress decided to grandfather Ted Cruz and hold the line from this time forth I would be quite satisfied. I am not against Ted Cruz, I am against the erosion of our constitutional protections.

As an aside why are the majority of the books on your about me page related to Clinton?

Of course they should but you have no guilty party do you? There wasn’t any eminent domain was there? Your blaming private business for the actions of pols? I agree with you on the Kelo principle but only government oficials can do that. No one else.

What the hell are you talking about ?
The Government's administrator, be it that city government, that state government, or the federal government, WHOEVER TAKES the individual's private property, JUST to give it to ANOTHER COMPANY for generating a lager tax base, IS THE GUILTY PARTY !

Like HELL there wasn't !
"EMINENT DOMAIN" was the rule they were trying to TWIST INTO JUSTIFYING their action !

WRONG !
Can't you get ANYTHING right ?
I'm blaming THE GOVERNMENT, be it that city government, that state government, or the federal government !

But yet again you don’t get it. The post you just sent is about citizenship. We are in complete agreement about citizenship. While not knowing all the facts it appears very unlikely that Cruz’s mother renounced her citizenship before his birth and he is, by the Laws and practice of America, an American citizen through his Mother at birth, although in the case of a foreign birth documentation needs to be provided to confirm the facts of the case.

What you are glossing over is the salient point that to become President or Vice President of the United States requires a special form of citizenship, natural born citizenship which has been defined and described as a child born to two American parents on American soil, although there are exceptions as to place of birth, as in the case of diplomats or people serving America overseas. America ignored that definition and constitutional requirement at it’s peril with Obama.

The media shaming and the court stonewalling of people that wanted to have the issue addressed starting in 2007 resulted in a President with foreign allegiances holding sway over the country for 8 years. The damage at home and abroad is staggering. We cannot be cavalier about the need for our Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates to have two citizen parents. It is a safeguard against putting in power someone with a divided allegiance which was addressed by our Founders and can be seen in their writings and correspondence and in the writers such as Vatel that they drew from in writing our Constitution. No matter how able a man Cruz is another incursion upon the Constitution will endanger America for the future.
