Exclusive: 1974 Canadian Electors’ List Named Ted Cruz’s Parents
Breitbart.com ^ | Jan. 8 2016 | Joel B. Pollak

Posted on 01/08/2016 6:00:09 PM PST by FR_addict

A document uncovered by Breitbart News indicates that the parents of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) were named on a Calgary list of electors for Canada's federal election of July 8, 1974. Ted Cruz parents are listed as Cruz, Eleanor, Mrs. nd Cruz, Raphael, self employed, both at 920 Riverdale Avenue, South West in Calgary, Alberta.

Canadian law restricts (and restricted) federal voting rights to Canadian citizens.

In a statement to Breitbart News—the full text of which follows this article—Jason Johnson, chief strategist for Cruz for President, said that “the document itself does not purport to be a list of ‘registered Canadian voters.’ All this might conceivably establish is that this list of individuals (maybe) lived at the given addresses. It says nothing about who was a citizen eligible to vote.”

Johnson added: Eleanor was never a citizen of Canada, and she could not have been under the facts or the law. In short, she did not live in Canada long enough to be a Canadian citizen by the time Cruz was born in 1970: Canadian law required 5 years of permanent residence, and she moved to Canada in December 1967—only 3 years before Senator Cruz’s birth. ...

‘Under the SCOTUS decision in Perkins v. Elg a minor child cannot give up their US citizenship ...’

So a repatrioted whore could get herself a bastard from the King of England who grooms the kid on his knee to run for President in the US? Interesting. I thought our Founding Fathers were smarter than that?

Oh, and she could become a lordess in the House of Lords at the same time.

Thank you for clarifying this to fellow freepers who don't have a clue on how it works up here. As a Canadian and Cruz supporter, I admit that i got a chuckle reading some of the insane comments about his eligibility. Man, Trumpers are nervous and this angle to derail the Cruz momentum smacks of desperation and reflects their blissfully ignorance of all things not Trump. BTW My neighbour is on a similar list and he is from France! And no he is not eligible to vote either since he is not Canadian!!
Uh oh! Now you've done it! The Cruz birthers will be after you!

"Seize the truth teller! He doth spread sanity on this birther thread!"

If his mother became a Canadian citizen and repatrioted, is Cruz still natural-born?

“If his mother became a Canadian citizen and repatrioted, is Cruz still natural-born?”

The list was a census list, listing all the people, not an official voter list. His mother did not become a citizen of Canada - even if she wanted to, she had not lived there five years which is required to become a citizen - she was there 3 years only. She did not give up her US citizenship.

One would have to be a nut case to give up US citizenship and she was a graduate of Rice University in Houston, the same University my son attended and graduated. They only accept 500 new students every year, and those have to be extremely smart or they do not get in. Due to his scores and community service (working for free for NASA in the summers), my son was accepted to Rice and automatically became a member of MENSA. I tell you that background to underscore the fact his mother had to be highly intelligent to attend Rice. No smart person would ever give up US citizenship.

This particular post by Marcella might put this article to bed once and for all [if not already posted here].

[Outstanding! Copying your post here to the root-accusation thread.]

1) this census was taken AFTER Sen Cruz was born (1970).

2) It was not LEGALLY POSSIBLE for his mother to be a Canadian citizen as Canada required 5 years of residence to apply for citizenship. Since the Cruzes moved to Canada in 1967, this requirement could not have been met. His mother was a US Citizen at his birth.

What bothers me about this is: didn't Rafael and the wife arrive in Canada at the same time, or was he living there already? Rafael became a citizen.

All that said, it is irrelevant, since the founding fathers did not accept maternal transmission of natural born status.

Maybe it’s impossible, but I would like this controversy cleared up one way or another.

I ran a google search [advanced] on ...

“natural born status”

... and ...

“maternal transmission”

Your post here is the only hit. Did you find a way to cut through the legalese cobwebs?

His mother was a US citizen well over 21 years old so in accordance with the law, he was born one, period. Everything else is irrelevant.

McConnell: No, Senate won’t pass resolution affirming Cruz’s eligibility like it did for McCain
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3382813/posts

Why can Mc-Conman do this? Because he has a revered creep — Professor Laurence Tribe, undermining Cruz [regarding natural born status].

Tribe is a creep, Mc-Conman is a creep, and they flock together.

The key to unraveling this is to completely obliterate Tribe’s aura of intellectual ‘superiority’.

If Cruz can’t do it, NO ONE can. He made a little stab at it here:

Ted Cruz: Are Democrats Behind Trump’s Citizenship Questions? [where he riducules Trump for quoting Tribe]
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-gop/3382891/posts

Cruz should challenge Tribe to a fair debate [no moderators, just a timer] and tear the guy open. Until he does that or something equally effective, this issue will fester.

The issue is a distraction, the last thing he should do is have a debate about it with Larry Tribe.

‘... the last thing he should do is have a debate about it with Larry Tribe...’

We have a senate refusing to clear his eligibility — a republican senate. So like it or not ... it IS an issue.

You say the issue is an easy win. Rush does not think it is. Natural born status is confusing — murky. That’s his take. And Rush likes Cruz.
