Donald Trump gloats after massive Macy's job cuts
The Business Insider ^ | 1/7 | Colin Campbell

Trump had a high-profile feud with Macy's shortly after he launched his presidential campaign in June with a fiery campaign speech in which he accused the Mexican government of sending rapists and murderers across the border.

Macy's was among several corporations to sever financial ties with Trump amid the resulting firestorm. The store said it would phase out its Trump-branded ties, dress shirts, and "Success" fragrance.

Trump responded by calling for a boycott of the store and retweeted his supporters who said they were cutting up their Macy's credit cards.

Macy's deserves it. My wife worked for them before we were married and was a seasonal part timer for many years afterward. She was helpful, kind and the customers loved here. Five years ago, they told her that her services were no longer required because they were targeting a younger, hipper customer base.

In the 1980's/90's there was a great mall in an easy drive and exit in another town. There was a Macy, JC Penney and other good chain and private stores. Macy and JC Penney had good part time and full time people working for them. My wife bought most of her clothes and home furnishings from them. We got good service, products and follow up.

JC and Macy got rid of the good people toward the end of the 1990's and replaced in part with the gay agenda critters and minorities who were not helpful at all. We stopped going there.

We went back about 10 years ago for some special gifts for our grandkids and grand nieces/nephews like in the Build a Bear store. The mall had closed down its police substation and gangs were all over the mall and not shopping. I told my wife I was not going back. A week later, a group she used to go shopping with, had their vehicles broken into in and robbed of their Christmas presents in that mall's parking lot. My wife, was sick and had not gone with them. The cops would not come out to investigate, they told the owners of the broken into cars to take pictures and let their insurance companies see the pictures. My wife agreed with me, that the shopping center has been a no go for us since then.

(BTW, can't wait to see how President The Donald handles being banned from UK. I wonder if he can nuke their economy like he nuked Macy's?)

He hasn't been banned yet. A petition was sent to Parliament by their large left wing and Parliament will debate it. My guess is that Parliament will make some snarky statements, but ultimately conclude how stupid a move that would be. Trump already owns two large developments in his mother's native land, Scotland, and has planned other multi-billion dollar (pound) developments. Meantime, his team put out a statement:

Trump to scrap UK investments if barred from Britain

Watch the Cruz faction's heads explode. Yet, many of them were outraged when Obama sent Churchill's bust back to UK, and gave the Queen an MP3 player with his speeches uploaded on it as a diplomatic gift. Trump does not symbolically insult people like Obama does to set things in his favor; he uses leverage effectively. It's something American presidents must know how to do so that our enemies will fear us and our allies will respect us. Otherwise, we may as well give up any pretense to world leadership on behalf of the concept of being a beacons of freedom, ever again, and just go with Obama's world-apology doctrine.

The idea here is that if Britain wishes to remain our ally and not cave in to Islamicization or shari'a over the proposed immigration policy of one of our political candidates, they need to butt out of trying to steer our elections via a snotty Facebook campaign. Talk about low class...

Sad how that scene seems to replicate itself all over the country and the corporate big wigs still can’t see the writing on the wall.

Facts are facts. He IS a winner. He’s been leading in the polls by a wide margin for the past 6 months. Maybe you’re too stupid to have noticed, or maybe you subscribe to the liberal philosophy of redefining things like winning and success to make yourself feel better.

All this fake outrage by libbylu and all the other phony concern trolls is exactly what we’re fighting back against with Trump.

We all know what Trump meant. Of course he doesn’t relish those being laid off losing their jobs, but they attacked him, he hit them back, and they’re paying a price for it now. There’s not a one of us who wouldn’t feel a degree of satisfaction from that.

So maybe he could have expressed his satisfaction in a more diplomatic way, but we know what he meant, and that’s why he’s so refreshing. He talks like you or I would talk sitting around the dinner table. So sometimes he doesn’t phrase it in the most diplomatic way. Big f-ing deal. We all know where he’s coming from. We know he wants to increase employment and prosperity for the country, but we also understand his sense of personal satisfaction at fighting back at an organization that buckled to pressure and publicly reprimanded him for saying the right thing with regards to illegal iimmigration.

That’s a POSITIVE for political discourse in the country and will make weak kneed or left leaning companies think twice before trying to jump into the political arena to try to damage the success of conservative policies such as border security.

This tweet is the response of a winner. People who don’t see that have either been dumbed down, or else never understood the concept of winning in the first place. Trump is right to publicly comment on this and demonstrate to future entities, that opposing him will have consequences.

Have you noticed that the people interviewing him are a lot more respectful to him nowadays? I saw an interview with Wolf Blitzer the other day, and he was down right friendly. That’s not an accident. It’s the result of repeated examples of Trump teaching the press not to underestimate him. Treat him fairly and you’ll prosper. Treat him unfairly and you’ll pay a price.

Yep. I mean, Cruz’s facts about his birth are no better than Obamas.

I see what happened. Yes, I started that post with a quote from the other FReeper and added my reply right after. I’m glad we cleared up the situation.

Trump was in Dallas several months ago with that monster rally, so I’m not sure when or where he will appear again in Texas. He makes so many campaign stops. He is long overdue to be back in Texas soon.

As for Cruz’s Christianity, I like that he is unashamed of Jesus, but in some of his campaign tactics, it seems he is abusing Christianity for his own purposes.

I’m completely enjoying this campaign season. The media and the PC police are getting what’s due to them. Trump is showing us how to throw it back in their faces.

So what did Trump mean when he said that Hillary would be a great president? Conservatism doesn’t mix with cult of personality.

I agree, totally enjoying Trump on the campaign trail.

It's only going to get better.

The movie '13 Hours' open on Jan. 15.

...reading the book should piss off everyone.

Even though Obama and Hillary are not mentioned in the Movie, everyone knows who the shot-callers are.

Then the FBI will recommend prosecution of Hillary and the fun really begins.

I agree with all of your comments 100%. No way will UK ban Trump. Also, seems kind of ridiculous that the UK Parliament has a rule that they HAVE to debate each and every “petition” that reaches a certain threshold.

Correct. It wasn’t a good season for sales. Absence of stories in the media prove it.

Normally, there are dozens of local and state and national “news” stories about the big shopping season.

Other than the usual crazy idiots that get press on Black Friday being moronic trying to get a TV for $30 less.

I'll stop asking and just move on.

Probably a very sensible idea when you're dealing with someone who doesn't have the "balls" to stand behind his or her candidate of choice.

I very much liked your POV in posts #109 and #110.

Nice to see "common sense" thinking prevail.
