This is how we celebrate Diversity in America!
pretty young girl. what a tragedy.
nose ring. that’s an African thing, isn’t it?
I don’t know why, but i’d be Really angry at my nieces if they got one.
rap music, nose rings, saggy pants...great thing picked up by white kids from obummer’s people.
Nope. They're mentioned in the Bible.
#whitelivesmatter
I’ve have seen Hindu women sporting them.
am I mistaken, or aren’t a lot of the places in the bible located in Africa?
interesting.
Yes, but Israel ain’t one of them. Nose rings worn by the women of Jerusalem are specifically mentioned in the book of Isaiah.
cool. was it ok that they wore them? or was it frowned upon in the bible?
They’re mentioned in the context of a curse in Isaiah, but so are several other adornments common to women.
If I remember correctly, they’re also mentioned of Patriarchal spouses with no particular note of acceptability.
My impression is they’re viewed as absolutely neutral as far as wimmins gettin’ dolled-up.
thanks for the info :)
It was/is a matter of convenience. A nose ring makes it very easy to hook up a leash.
Begging your pardon for unsolicited advice, but figuring out why might be a worthwhile effort on your part, regardless of what you determine.
Not to attribute such things to you, but when considering new styles I'm always mindful of the most beautiful woman I've ever met.
She sports one split earlobe from when her ex-husband pulled her earring out when she got one ear double pierced.
Styles have always come and gone, so I'm wary of assigning moral weight to such thing not obviously so.
De Nada ;)
To be frank, they’re not wearing them to copy the bible.
It was a trend started in the African American community that carried over to other neighborhoods, like the saggy pants and that rap crap, only in the past 10 or 20 years.
You can call me an old fashioned, outdated, Italian racist. I can live with that.
I’ve been called for worse :)
Do you have a link? I’ll post the info at ABC if possible with the police report as reference.
No, they're wearing them to look pretty. It's what women do.
The reason I brought up my beautiful friend is to show how making harsh judgements about styles can ultimately alienate one from perfectly reasonable society. How common are multiple ear piercings today?
I'm not a particular fan of the tattoo thing, but it's not something I criticize, either.
No doubt there's some old black guy out there carping about girls getting tattoos because it's so white ;)
