Philadelphia's incoming mayor and organizers of the city's annual New Year's Day parade condemned expressions of hate, a day after some Mummers Parade participants mocked Caitlyn Jenner, were accused of harassing gays and painted their faces brown to portray Mexicans.
Officials with the 116-year-old Mummers Parade pledged Saturday to cooperate with authorities looking into any complaints. They said in a statement that they will continue discussions on sensitivity, on what is considered satire and what is "over the line."
They also said a member of one of the Friday parade's performance groups, the Finnegan NYB, has been banned from the group and won't be allowed to march with the Mummers. He was seen shouting expletives about gays in a video shot by New York Daily News editor Nick Kurczewski, Philly.com reported.
The parade - often characterized as Philadelphia's version of Mardi Gras - has faced annual criticism for its lack of diversity and racial insensitivity. ...

Interesting story.
The Mummers history if you dig deep goes back to the days when the then dominant Protestants watched Irish Catholics come into Philadelphia in the 1830’s and 40’s.
The original mummers were Protestants poking fun at the Catholic newcomers.
Nowadays, we live in a Sovietized society where every act is judged political and labeled ‘inappropriate’ and investigated and purged by political authorities.
Jenner’s mocking Nature’s DNA, imho.
Mummers=hate-filled wimps.

I grew up in Stratford, and the man who lived behind us competed in the fancy division; he spent all year on his 11 foot tall costume, and I got the chance to help him one year.
The purpose of the comic division was to mock everything. It’s time to just tell the people to take a joke and let it go. This is why Trump will end up President, regardless of his political positions.
The Bruce Jenner “let’s pretend” story is like the tale of The Emperor’s News Clothes. Everyone sees that Bruce has made himself a laughable ever posing spectacle, but the thought police have so infiltrated the media that “officials” are afraid to allow anyone to say what they themselves and everyone thinks. Satirizing stars and public figures used to be standard. The minute it involves the practitioners of homosexuality and its various versions, everyone has to shut up and applaud the perversion or face prosecution. That alone proves how ill the Jenners of the world are.
