I would expect anyone victimized by this law to react negatively to everyone involved in persecuting them. If my wife got mad and reported me under this sort of tyrannical law (not happening both because she’s not that kind of evil, vindictive woman, and because we’re not in California), that would at best mean divorce with no chance of forgiveness or any positive contact before, during, or after the divorce.

This will likely go to the Supreme Court.

I think there probably are millions of vindictive people out there, men and women, who will gladly screw with people. This could get ugly.

and that worries me. I was certain SCOTUS would have ruled Obamacare and gay marriage unconstitutional but after those rulings I know they rule purely based on their personal political views. I honestly they will rule for the California law. IMO the right should consider ignoring laws/rulings the way the left does.

“Minority Report” gone live.

Proceed with punishment and removal of RIGHTS (not privileges like a drivers license) without ever having committed a crime, arrested for a crime, had day in court for due process under the law or the presumption of innocence.

... if a judge determines there's potential for violence.

Next "law" to be enacted - Owning a firearm is prima facia evidence that there is probable cause for potential to cause violence.

Remember how Direct Deposit of vets’s checks was claimed “evidence” of mental incapacity - and a ‘reason’ to deny them guns?

And this, coming from the SAME Rats who have publicly pushed for use of DD by SocSecurity recipients, federal & state employees and others, to reduce mailing cost and because it’s “green.”

How stupid do these geniuses think we are?

You can’t make this nonsense up.

In 1989 when I was in the Navy and stationed in San Diego, I walked into a gun store with $350 and walked out less than an hour later with a Norinco AK47, three 30 round magazines and 500 rounds of ammo.

After years of gun control its nice to see how much safer California is today.

I am so glad I got out of that liberal cesspool before they went completely nuts.

Did you follow the proceedings against Scott Walker’s supporters with the John Doe grand jury proceedings? It went on for years with those accused slapped with gag orders. Finally the State Supreme Court stepped in and returned some sanity. It was a total travesty of our criminal justice system. It was a weaponized legal system used to go after the Left’s opponents.

And have you been following the proceedings in Waco against the Biker’s who were at Twin Peaks? The entire legal process is turned upside down. Do you really think this is directed by local government?

God Help US.

A lot of Californians just lost their guns. They are at the bottom of lakes where their boats accidentally turned over.

My guns? What guns. I do not have any.

Of course they’re working on passing a law requiring all lost or stolen firearms to be reported within 48 hours. Filing a false report would also be illegal.

What doesn’t seem to have concerned anyone is the enforcement aspect. Since by default these anyone who falls prey to this law will be considered “armed and dangerous”, LEOs will no doubt go the full midnight SWAT raid route, complete with flash bang grenades and dead family dogs, if not worse. It’s going to be very messy.

Curiously, I don't often inspect my inventory. I don't think I can be prosecuted for failure to notice.

“Gun-safety legislation going into effect in California next week will allow authorities to seize a person’s weapons for 21 days if a judge determines there’s potential for violence.”

That’s scary insane. It could be argued that the very act of OWNING a gun means there’s potential for violence, thereby giving them the power to remove the gun.
