Webb is a lib scumbag. Unlike Savris he’s a scumbag people have heard of. He won’t run as a Libertarian and have stupid conservatives voting for that letter next to his name. He’s a threat (to take 1-4 points) from Hillary, not the GOP.

I read someplace else that a Webb third-party run might be a problem for the GOP moreso than the DNC because it would draw off more conservative democrats (yes, I know, contradiction in terms) who would otherwise have voted for the GOP candidate.
Is there anything of substance to that, or would Webb just be a thorn in the side of the DNC?
I’m a Virginian. And a former ‘rat as my tagline indicates. Conservative and ‘rat, particularly in the south, wasn’t a complete contradiction in terms until about 10 years ago.
Webb would be more of a threat to a gop populist such as Trump than to the rats. We saw something like this with Robert Sarvis who likely cost Ken Cuccinelli the governor’s office in 2013. The gop was complicit as well, but Sarvis was probably the coup d grace.
Thanks for the info. I am a Virginian in diaspora - married a New Yorker almost 20 years ago so I rather doubt if I’ll be going back any time soon.
It has changed. It has become much more liberal due to the population influx into the People’s Republic of Northern Virginia.
Nice place and it’s been good to us, but I don’t plan on staying in the long term.
