Ted Cruz says Bill Clinton not an issue in presidential race
Dallas Morning News ^ | 12/30/15 | Gromer Jeffries

Ted Cruz says he won't use former President Bill Clinton's political liabilities against Democratic presidential contender and former First Lady Hillary Clinton.

"I am not interested in getting into personal attacks and innuendo," he said Tuesday at a news conference in Cisco. "Hillary Clinton’s biggest liability is that her policies are a disaster."

New York businessman Donald Trump, the frontrunner in the Republican race for president, has used Twitter to black Bill Clinton as abusive to women.

"If Hillary thinks she can unleash her husband, with his terrible record of women abuse, while playing the women’s card on me, she’s wrong! Mr. Trump said Monday via Twitter.

Cruz says he won't engage in such attacks.

Instead, he outlined how he would contrast himself with Clinton, should he get the Republican nomination for president.

"Because of the Obama/Clinton economic policies, millions of Americans are hurting," he said. “We have the lowest percentage of Americans working since 1977."

He added that "the Obama/Clinton foreign policy is terrible because of the strengthening of Iran and the rise of the Islamic State.

"That is a record that is substantially indefensible," he said.

The man can’t win. As much as I like his conservatism, the man can’t win.

Ah, the same words often said about Reagan in 1980.

You forget that many voters were in diapers or very young when the Clintons were in office.

The media will not go after Bill and the GOPe will not either. They would rather have Hillary if it isn’t Jeb.

-- Hillary's enabling is the issue. She can't have it both ways.

Amen. She is NEVER guilty or responsible for ANYTHING. She will weave, dodge, lie, accuse, dissemble, obfuscate, project, etc, etc, etc.

I think Cruz is making a big mistake to unilaterally disarm. Trump has fired a shot across the HRC bow, and she knows he's not bluffing. It's a fight she will lose; I suspect she'll back down, pronto.

“My feelings exactly. It is too bad they can't have a mind meld. Spock where are you when we need you.”

Good thought. I guess Trump is like Kirk and Cruz like Spock. They should get their own show. Lots of good fodder there.

Case in point: Marco Rubio, who is head and shoulders intellectually superior to Hillary, got royally schwacked when he turned his guns on Cruz. When and if given the opportunity, Cruz will turn PIAPS inside out, smiling the whole time.

With the Cruz/Rubio discussion, the media gleefully reported it, because it was two Republicans dukeing it out.

The media will not play it the same way with Cruz/Hillary, as the media is in the tank for Hillary already.

Ted will have to go over the media to the people for his attacks on Clinton to resonate.

So when Clinton says Republican candidates like Cruz do not respect women, have a war on women, Cruz is simply going to say no we don’t?

Bill *was* charismatic, back in the day.
Back before Chicago Barry stole his mojo.

Now he comes off as the creepy, old, drunk, pervert down the street.
You know the type, the one who plays pocket pool while watching the young girls play soccer.
The kind that makes you want to go home and take a shower.

I doubt he’ll bring up Benghazi if she objects.

Typical republican POLITICIAN (that’s an insult) gutless and spineless, afraid of confronting ANYONE outside their party no matter what.

He’ll end up being Dole, mc cain and Romney all combined into one milktoast LOSER.

Ugh - he doesn’t even have the nomination and some here are already lambasting him for not attacking BILL.

I sometimes wonder if anyone pays attention anymore.

Not a problem... there's enough non-driveby media out there to provide a workaround.

Great graphic

Thank you! Cruz is the strongest candidate we have had in 3 decades. I’m enjoying this election cycle more than any other!

Yes, but Trump is raising the issue— Ted doesn’t have to, he just accepts the benefit.

Cruz is running for president not school bully. The superpacs, talk radio, and party hacks can all expose BJ Clinton for the rape star that he is. For Cruz the opponent is everyone who shreds the Constitution, he can leave the politics of personal destruction to the professional pundits, the johns to the vice-squad and lead a nation with principle.

Ted Cruz says Bill Clinton not an issue in presidential race
But he has no problem going after fellow Republicans that aren't candidates.

Maybe it's because he's afraid of what getting into the past about future first spouses might bring.

I wish Cruz the best. He’s my favorite.

However, we all know Hillary! is only where she is today because of Bill. There’s a whole new voter generation who have no idea what he’s done in the past. In fact, they have no idea what is going on today.

By making the statement he will not hit back he has given Trump ammo to label him weak. Why tell the world how you will campaign?

Cruz makes the better President.

He's a lawyer (Strike 1) an FTC bureaucrat (strike 2) and a politician. (strike 3, he's out o here) I didn't even mention the pillow talk with the an appointed operative of the NWO. Which is why his conservative rep is leaking oil in Congress.

No comparison between Cruz and McCain. Cruz is the man that called Mitch McConnell a liar in front of the world. Cruz will rip Hillary to shreds on HER record as Sec. of State. I guess some would prefer Cruz harp on nose picking and Monica. I prefer he expose Hillary to the voters for the low life candidate she is and he will! I would also love to see Trump and Cruz debate the constitution.

In 2013, Cruz took the hit from both parties for being "the cause" of the government shutdown simply because he pressed to defund Obamacare. Not once did he shrink from that position, even though "leaders" in his own party sh*t all over him.

BTW, why wasn't King Trump grabbing a microphone back then and supporting the effort to defund it? Oh.. that's right... he was busy engaging in the "good business" practice of backing single-payer.
