Tamir Rice supporters ask LeBron James to boycott games until feds hear case

The fight isn't over for supporters of Tamir Rice, in fact, they're calling on LeBron James for help.

After a grand jury decided Monday not to indict the Cleveland cops who killed Rice, a 12-year-old boy shot dead while playing with a toy gun, Twitter users flooded the basketball champion's timeline with pleas for him to take a stand by sitting on the sidelines.

The hashtag #NoJusticeNoLebron ascended the trending charts - with hopes of using the player's status in the Ohio city to convince the Department of Justice to take on the case.

"Can we collectively flood @KingJames mentions to remind him not to play? #NoJusticeNoLebron," tweeted @TariqToure, an activist and the apparent creator of the hashtag.

Other Twitter users followed suit, some reminding the Cleveland Cavaliers star of his influence.

"@KingJames Twist the system. You have the power to do it. Right now. This second. #TamirRice #NoJusticeNoLebron," tweeted @expandyourfocus.

Some other Twitter users didn't agree with the plan to hold LeBron solely accountable in retrieving justice.

~snip~

James, for his part, has yet to express feelings about the case's end result publicly, though he has thrown support behind other fights for justice including Eric Garner and Trayvon Martin.

LeBron came back to Cleveland to sucker the fans out of big contract bucks — while he coasts to the end of his career.

Nothing will change that.

Just pretend that the kid died in a drive by shooting, and everything will be OK.

Lol. LeBron is a capitalist first. His contract would punish him if he does.

He coasted them all the way to the NBA finals last year.

Do white people care if LeBron James plays or not?

It's a serious question. I haven't watched an NBA game in, well... decades. i couldn't tell you who are the reigning NBA champs. I don't even know how that guy was who passed out in that brothel in Nevada and connected to the loathsome Kardashian crew.

It seems if you wanted to send a message to white people, you'd target something important to them.

BLM should be shown nothing but scorn. That said those two trigger happy goons with badges should be on trial.

Any team on the planet would have paid him that money. I’m not really sure what your issue is. He plays hard and is a leader.

If whites stopped going to NBA games because of BLM, you’d really see some sparks fly.

I suppose. I'm just surprised that people care one way or the other about the NBA.

Football, baseball... I can see. But the NBA?

Maybe I just run in different circles.

who gives a @#$@#$.

white people are crazy for paying a fortune to see pituitary cases run up and down a court.

I LOVE my jets but not enough to pay to see them. It’s called network TV and it’s part of cable bill.

Playoffs here we come!

PS: on this one I feel bad. I have to admit. opinions?

Point something that looks like a gun at a police officer an expect the officer to roll the dice that you might not shoot him?

Makes as much sense as EVERY gun holder saying, “Oh, how did you know it wasn’t loaded? I hadn’t shot it yet??”

Hmmmm. They want LJ to support their cause, well just scan the crowds and see how many black fans show up for his games. So I’m not real sure how much leverage they think they have.

I used to watch as much NBA as I could. At some point it turned into thugball and Michael Jordan was allowed to walk, it became the insult to watch it. I’m with you, I don’t know who plays anymore and I don’t care.

If they made it more like hockey, that might help. Allow them to sucker punches at a thug as he takes a shot, I would watch again.

Remember this whole episode started with a 911 call about a juvenile running around the park pointing a gun at people.

Easy for you to say as you didn’t have to face some punk pointing a gun at you.

A 12 year old baby playing with a toy gun?

Why don’t they say it properly: a 5’7” 200 lb person pulling out a black gun (no evidence it was a toy, orange tip removed).

Also this is the first I heard that LaBron was involved that night. Oh, wait. You mean he has the same shade of skin as the giant sized kid?
