The owners of an Oregon bakery who denied service to a same-sex couple have paid more than $135,000 in state-ordered damages â months after refusing to do so â according to state officials Monday.
Aaron Klein, co-owner of Sweet Cakes, by Melissa, dropped a check off for $136,927.07, according to the Bureau of Labor and Industries. The payment includes interest. Klein also paid $7,000 earlier this month.
Damages were award in July for emotional suffering caused by the bakery which refused to make a wedding cake for Laurel and Rachel Bowman-Cryer more than two years ago. The bakers said they refused to make the cake because of their religious beliefs.

It wasn’t a judge, it was a bureaucrat who imposed the fine.
Brad Avakian, head of Oregon’s Bureau of Labor and Industries.
That’s even worse.
Yup! Once we’re under Sharia Law once and for all, this kind of BS will be a thing of the past! So, we’ve got that to look forward to. :/
Well the Cryers certainly have the right last name for “emotional distress”.
Isn’t it obvious that ANY two men or two women can now go get a “marriage license, and then go from one business to another, until they find one that refuses to provide some service for their “wedding.” Jackpot!
Does the government require such “couples” to provide any evidence that they are actually practicing sodomy (or whatever)? Or can just anyone at all engage in this racket?
This is all so very damn sickening.
Did they get a jury trial?>>>
admin ruling. if you submit to baking under the rules of the state you need to bake as the state sees fit.
135k for refusing to bake a cake!
Meanwhile, you can cross our borders and get away with it.
You can sell our national secrets for cash (see Hillary Clinton) and get away with it.
I love Obamaland!
You people are SO STUPID.
But you just keep voting for it. :)

No. I have not voted for it. NEVER voted for Obama. Won’t
vote for Hitler-y.
The Gaystapo on the March..
To comport with the Ore-goons, while staying in business, maybe the bakery should only bake the cake part of the ensemble with a generic icing. Tell potential customers that they need to go to another business to purchase whatever plastic accouterments go on top of the cake and let them place it themselves.
Meanwhile, two Muslims who refused to drive liquor were awarded $400,000 because they were fired for refusing to drive said liquor on their employee’s trucks.
Bastards, all of them. This country is unrecognizable to me, and I’m not even 60 years old.

The thang that gets me since this whole bruh haha began is why would anyone seriously want any food item from a person that does not want to make it for them? Easy enough to “accidentally” not turn out exactly as intended........
Fundamentally, fascism—like its’ evil twin communism—is the unfettered evil in man. Its’ mantra is Lennon’s song Imagine. Freed from fear of Judgment and all moral and social constraints, it fearlessly terrorizes the decent and law abiding on behalf of whatever it covets, and more often than not, for the sadistic pleasure it receives from doing so.
Then, I should be able to go to a videographer and tell him to video my sex act with my girl friend. If he refuses on religious grounds, I own everything he has. That’s the ticket!
It’s against the law for any business to discriminate based on sexual preference in Oregon. The bakery knew this. They also published the names and I believe the address of the lesbian couple they refused to make a cake for. They were sued for this by the couple, which was legal, and was found liable.
