My feeling too. I don’t know why this judge us still on the bench.

I doubt he will spend much time in jail. They can get him for violation of probation, but that’s about it.

What I want to know is of anything ever happened to the judge who let him off with that "defense."

It is worthwhile to note that the kid waived a jury trial. So the judge handled everything.

And that judge simply retired. And I'm betting that she has a Swiss bank account that dwarfs her civil service pension.

What a repulsive young man. Mexican jail is an excellent place for him and his mother both.

She found that she was able to comfortably retire shortly after making this ruling.

She's retired. And as I noted in my post #43, I'm guessing she has bribe money stashed away somewhere. No other reason for her decision makes sense. It would be interesting if that were really so, and the kid blurts it out in hopes for a reduced sentence.

Lots of good countries with non extradition to US where you can live well with some money.

Mexico is fine if you’re running from the average probation violation - the US isn’t gonna spend the resources to haul you back. But in this case it was high profile and he was like a Most Wanted fugitive.

The kid’s barber should face charges of some sort too.

I knew he would show up a Mexican resort city, just didn’t know which one.

I know a fella that spent over twenty years doing the Mexico Two Step. Over alimony and child support.

He would come to the US and work off the books for cash while living frugally.
Once he had saved a years pay he would head south and live in Mexico for a couple years.
He said for a years pay he could rent a small house and pay a woman to do all the cooking, cleaning and day to day buying for two years.
He would set his butt on the beach and fish or drink in the bar all day.

He claimed there were two secrets.
1) stay away from tourist areas. The local and federal police like to keep those areas respectable.

2) find a local official who can be bribed and stay bribed.

He kept that up until his dads health got bad. He came home and hung around and one of his ex wives found out and had him arrested.

The little twit’s dad threatened that he “could buy” the kid’s school in the past when Sonny got in trouble; I’m sure he would have made the judge the same offer.

“Affluenza”! Dr. Thomas Szasz used to quip, “Typhoid Fever is a disease; Spring fever is not.”

He spoke against the “medicalization” of terms used to describe problem BEHAVIOR, and he nailed where it was leading. This rat-faced punk and his Mom could only argue “affluenza” because the road of excuses was already well paved.

Thanks for the information about the judge. She may have had bribe money - or she may have known the family because they ran in the same circles. I’d guess that if the kid waived a jury trial, his family knew what judge they were getting and that it would turn out okay for them. Good ol’ boys (or girls) network.

Puerto Vallarta is a tourist town, but I think it was hit pretty hard recently with some devastating storm activity

The asshole probably got drunk and got popped

A vacay mama and her boy should not have drawn attention
