Mild-mannered WaPo pundit George Will is panicking at the prospect of President Donald Trump. Mr. Will tells us that Trump will destroy conservatism -- which doesn't seem likely, because about a third of Americans strongly and consistently lean right. George Will also calls Trump "insecure," "needy" and does "compulsive boasting."
George Will has discovered âinsecure boastingâ after two terms of Obama, the most insecure, self-promoting, pro-jihad, anti-American president in history. Every time Obama attacks this country he is also boasting about his own superior wisdom and morality. Obama is a true narcissist, Trump is a humorous boaster -- it's part of his showbiz act, like Jackie Gleason and other entertainers. Trump laughs at himself, but Obama is deadly serious about his messianic mission to change America. Obama has killed people in the Middle East to get his way: in Libya, Syria, and almost in Egypt.
Trump is a people person. Obama is cold-hearted. Trump actually likes regular people, including Muslims who are not out to commit jihad against innocents.
A Trump win is not going to harm conservatism -- if the Republicans elect a Congressional majority with Trump or Cruz as president, we will see something similar to the Reagan years. Conservatism isn't fragile. It survived the New Deal, eight years of Bill Clinton, and almost eight years of the most radical, leftist, jihad-enabling and anti-American president in US history. If we can survive Obama and win, a lot of the damage could be undone.
How could a Trump presidency be worse than Obama? It doesn't make sense.
What are WaPo conservatives afraid of?
I can't remember seeing this before. DC conservatives didn't lose their cookies after 9/11.

Let’s just get one thing straight .. GEORGE WILL IS NOT A CONSERVATIVE.
And .. I stopped listening to him several years ago. He’s decided to join the GOP-e group of people who side with the DemocRATS all the time.
Who cares what he says. He doesn’t speak for any conservative I know.
And we should care what the pathetic George Will has to say because....?

Washington Post “conservatives” = RINO’s
How could Trump be anymore of a threat to conservatism than a GOP that funded a trillion dollar budget, continues to fund Planned Parenthood, refuses to defund Obamacare, aides and supports the illegal invasion of our country, voted to confirm an Attorney General like Loretta Lynch, and generally supports Obama’s left wing agenda?
Next time some idiot like George Will tells you that Trump is a threat to conservatism...ask him to explain how he could possibly be worse the GOP status quo.
Trump isn’t my first choice, but this guy makes strongly the point I always emphasize when the anti-Trump fringe goes all hissie-fit on me: we’ve survived seven years of the most unqualified, ignorant, close-minded excuse of a president in our history - whatever his faults, Trump couldn’t come anywhere near as bad.
Heck, I’d close my eyes, open the phone book at random, and put my finger on the name of whoever I poked at, and I’m just about sure that person would do better than the doofus we’re currently stuck with.
Why panic over someone who can’t win?
LOL!
Good article. Thanks for posting.
Lewis is giving the bow-tied buffoon waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much credit. I can agree with the later part of this statement, but not the former.
In 2011, when the GOP controlled the governor's office and both houses in the Pennsylvania legislature, the Senate Majority leader introduced a bill to allocate our presidential electors on the same basis as Maine and Nebraska-- two for the winner of the state, one for the winner of each congressional district. It was a good bill which the governor had already pledged to sign. George Will teamed up with the asshat state GOP chairman to ensure it never made it out of committee. What would've become a game changer in national presidential politics and ensured that us long-suffering people in the "T" portion of the state finally got some representation became a lost opportunity unlikely to come again for another generation.
That’s awesome.
There is a lot of truth in this article. I also believe that many in DC hate Trump because he is an outsider and they do not want an outsider to be privy to the massive corruption and traitorous deceptions they have been up to for years now.
They would have fear of the people. That is the way it SHOULD be. Trump can accomplish this.
you are exactly right.
Republican leadership passes this budget...and these idiots have the insight that a private citizen/capitalist who really hasn’t yet “done anything” in politics is the big threat to conservatism?
Truly, this is insanity.
So what’s the difference between George Will and the Cruz supporters on FT?
They all trade the same talking points, agree with each other, and both want Trump out.
These days they might as well all get on the same team.
James Lewis is right ... Establishment Conservatives are afraid... and they’re making stuff up about Trump to cover that fear.
I suspect the Washington Post in general and George Will in particular are concerned Trump will NEVER leak to them or offer them the plumb stories. Trump will choose reporters he’s found to be honest and open - and those people will be justifiably rewarded.
Old journalist who came out unfairly against Trump in the beginning because they thought he would be ‘easy pickings’ will fade away as they lose power. That includes many at FOX.
