Women are paying thousands of dollars more over the course of their lives than men to purchase similar products, according to a study of the gender pricing of goods in New York City, which revealed widespread gender-based pricing disparities.
Comparing nearly 800 products with clear male and female versions from more than 90 brands sold in store and online, NYC's Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) which carried out the study into gender pricing, found that the women's version of products cost more than men's.

The DCA found that, on average and across five industries, women's products cost 7 percent more than similar products for men. Specifically:

Libtard Democrat bureaucrats trolling up a new problem ... because they presume that Free Enterprise doesn't work ... that women are too stupid to shop for low prices ... that women are too stupid to use generic men's products such as shampoo and razor blades ... and most important, that that they need to issue massive new regulations to protect people from problems that they don't have!
By the looks of many democrate women this is hardly true
How many pairs of shoes do you really need, ladies?
I’d have to agree.
I don’t see beer on that list.
I’m worth it.
translate: Women waste more money on themselves than men do.
I have a wife and three college age daughters. The amount of crap in my household for skin, hair, makeup etc is mind boggling.
Gotta wonder how they define the "same items." I buy steel toed work boots more frequently than any other shoes. And I can't remember the last time I bought a pair of slingback 3" heels.
Solution: Stop buying expensive products and then watch the prices come down.
Congratulations, you’ve just re-discovered that men and women’s brains are wired differently.
This has nothing to do with equal pay, this is just plain marketing to the profile.
A man can live on virtually nothing. Find a woman who will say that.
We all love women, but they are HIGH maintenance.
That said, without them, men would still be living like cavemen. They don't call it a man cave for nuttin'.
That is a perfectly understandable fact. Women will take three to four times as long to select an item, which means the store has to keep a significantly larger selection of comparable products than for men, which takes up valuable floor and shelf space.
Men pick what they want, or a suitable substitute in a much shorter time. And if it is too expensive, we walk away.
Again, saving the store valuable clerk time.
It is all perfectly reasonable. This is an attempt to get men to pony up more money for their items as a subsidy for women’s products.
Hillary knows of this unfair disadvantage first hand and will give each woman in America 1 million dollars and/or a free sex change operation when she’s elected president!!
Solution: Stop buying expensive products and then watch 90% of the useless stores disappear.
I have 2 pairs of sneakers — one white, one black, plus one pair of dress shoes, which sit in a closet collecting dust because I seldom dress up anymore. That is it.
Yep. I forgot shoes. There are always about 20-30 pair lying around the house, in different rooms, for me to trip over, any one time.
One pair of shoes that only get replaced when homeless guys start to point and laugh.
If the men’s products are the same as the women’s products, women can just buy them and save money.
The bureaucrats who produce such nonsense should be fired.
No. Some of us don’t wear makeup, don’t waste money on “age defying” products, etc. If I go to Walmart to buy a pair of jeans, regular retail cheapest pair for me is going to be $20. If I’m lucky I find something on sale. My husband I can walk right in and grab a pair for about $11. Always.
The other item proportionately overpriced are children’s clothes. They are using about half the material and charging the same price as adult clothes.
