Omnibus Includes Lethal Rejection for Obamacare
American Spectator ^ | 12/21/2015 | David Catron

Yes, yes. I know. Only a RINO or a (Trumphradites may insert preferred epithet for thinking Republicans here) would claim that the House omnibus spending bill contains anything conservatives can applaud. It does, nonetheless, include such a provision. As Ronald Reagan (who signed several omnibus bills himself) famously said, facts are stubborn things. And one of the most intransigent facts about this bill is that it imposes a deadly dose of fiscal restraint on Obamacare. It requires the law's risk corridor program to remain budget neutral. This is far more dangerous to the Affordable Care Act than most observers realize.

Specifically, it thwarts the Obama administration plan to indiscriminately use taxpayer funds to revive Obamacare’s moribund insurance exchanges. These marketplaces are facing extinction because they have failed to hit their enrollment goals and the individuals who have signed up are far sicker, on average, than expected. Thus, insurers selling coverage through the exchanges are incurring unsustainable losses ... Senator Marco Rubio led a successful effort to insert language that forbade HHS to use general appropriations or Medicare funding to finance the risk corridor program.

If this is a fact so be it, but from my point of view it is equivalent to trading 5 highly valued terrorists for one American traitor who is by the same stupid government considered a hero, I don’t see a win here, not much more than band-aide applied to a bloody terminal wound.

Section 9 of the US Constitution:

“”No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in
Consequence of Appropriations made by Law; and a regular Statement and Account of the Receipts and Expenditures of all public Money shall be published from time to time.””

Meaning:

“”The departments and agencies of the executive branch may not spend any money that Congress has not appropriated, or use federal money for any purpose that Congress has not specified.””

Have we EVER seen a statement of the Receipts and Expenditures or seen Congress lay down the law on obozo’s spending???? If Congress doesn’t appropriate it, he MAY NOT SPEND IT! HA!

Isn’t the real plan for Obamacare and the insurance companies to fail? Then bring in single payer by the government.
****************
YES , Yes it is... and at this point the participants in Obamacare WILL fail ,, We just need a miracle with Cruz or another conservative in charge when it happens. Maybe the first bill proposed should be something tying current Obamacare providers to the failing system for a few years with no withdrawal option to extend and enhance their pain.

I personally could “solve” the healthcare “crisis” with simple steps... clearly defined standardized plans so consumers could easily compare companies ,,, nationwide licensing for insurance providers ,, ending job killing provisions like the 30 hour Obamacare full-time/ins. mandates,, putting Americans back to work by making illegals more expensive than Americans to hire , both by fining employers mercilessly and by making illegals eligible for bennies that employers now skip... DEATH to OBAMACARE ...

The objective of Socialism in all its forms is to DESTROY an existing structure and then REPLACE it with the desired new model. The old healthcare model has been well and truly destroyed and the vacuum will be filled by .. what?

The answer is that it will be filled with the Uniparty's new structure. Job Done!

Maybe because Trump is a Dem that wants universal health care. Cruz is the conservative. Trump is a Dem plant sent by Soros to destroy the Rep party. He just gave money to Obama and Hillary. He just changed to pro life last year. It's ridiculous that Rep can't discern this. He says he Christian, yet he hasn't been to church in years and has no verse he can quote. Christians can't seem to discern this. I have concerns about his Second Amendment bonifides.

It's almost as if people have been hypnotized and blinded by some supernatural force. Hatred of RINO's and the Media is not enough to explain this. What is his plan to balance the budget? What is his plan to defeat terrorists? The only plan I've heard is to build the wall. There is more to POTUS than building a wall. Trust is a flimsy reason to vote for someone. Many trusted Obama and look what we got. When you get someone on record you can hold them to it. What would happen if Trump gets in and doesn't build the wall? By the same token, what if he gets in and makes the debt worse? He has said nothing, but people believe he will do something.

Any background check on Trump will show he is a Dem and has just claimed to be a conservative lately. We can't afford to be fooled again.

Cruz or Lose!

We must be pro-free-market. Pro competition. Pro successful healthcare already proven to be the best systems on earth in different nations.

Bingo! Politicians via the allocation of taxpayer dollars should not be in the business of picking winners and losers via bailouts. Companies need to fail or prosper on their own two feet.

An approach like that doesn't vilify insurance companies. It just makes the point that when government meddles in the free market, everyone loses.

I had a private conversation with one of the three Secretaries of the Treasury during the G.W. Bush administration. He told me the government does not reconcile its books monthly with a formal closing like public and private businesses. He had a personal goal of having each agency close the books and balance within 20 days of end of the prior month.

Is this happening today?

David Catron is a health care consultant

Does that mean he is a lobbyist?

Soul,

The answer is sort of. Each agency must report to the Department of the Treasury 11 times a year through a system called the Governmentwide Treasury Account Symbol Adjusted Trial Balance System (GTAS). For some reason, there is no reporting for the month of October. This does involve preparing financial data (including a closing and reconciliation with the Treasury), although eliminations data is only done quarterly (if you know what eliminations data is, then you are an accountant).

No matter what Ryan does, we can win on this issue.

One thing though — the big problem with ‘outing’ the dangers of nationalized healthcare — nations that nationalize control their own official statistics.

It’s easy to quote the official govenrment line, and that can never be emphasized enough — socialist nations’ stats are LIES.
