From the article:

The sanction against Thaddeus Pryor was not the only action the school took against offensive comments posted Nov. 9 on the anonymous social-media app Yik Yak: His friend Lou Henriques was expelled.

Senior Associate Dean of Students Rochelle Mason, Dean of Students Mike Edmonds and Assistant Dean of Students Cesar Cervantes decided in less than 24 hours that Pryor should be suspended for 21 months – the exact time it would take him to finish his degree – and prohibited from being on campus.

In addition, Pryor was forbidden from taking courses for credit at other universities because of his crass remark. Because Henriques had a prior disciplinary record, he was expelled for a similar post, Pryor said.

Hope he gets a good lawyer.

For suspensions and expulsions, it is next to impossible to get a positive outcome. The case law is not in the student's favor.

It all depends what people are into, if you’re not attracted to a certain nationality what’s the big deal? Otoh, posting this crap on social media is stupid and anyone can view it, even if it is “anonymous.”

Yik-Yak is completely anonymous so he had to have told someone he posted them or someone was in the room and he was bragging. Heck, he could have just denied it. He wasn’t under oath.

And if a black woman said she doesn’t find white guys hot?

Oh yeah, she likely teaches some race studies class and is cleared for takeoff.

“The case law is not in the student’s favor. “

FIRE has a great record is protecting students’ First Amendment rights. https://www.thefire.org/

He should contact them.

Can’t figure out why he is not allowed to set his own standard of what he considers “hot?”

Some Black women are smokin’ - but no one should be disciplined for such an innocuous statement.

This is just more of the cultural Marxism known as Political Correctness and is a black mark against the college.

How can a college prohibit anybody from taking courses at another school? Is this satire?

Black women are so hot! I just want to do ‘em all day! They are just made for doing the dirty dirty. Oh momma! Shake that thing! You black women make a man think about only one thang!

Oh, I’m sorry.

Was I objectifying them in a bad and sexist way?

I would sue the individual responsible for suspending me for damages. Whether or not he can get back in is irrelevant if he can make them pay through the nose for abusing their power.

I disagree with him, but he has a right to his own opinion.

Now a college can tell a student what women are hot or not?

If that’s a picture of him at the top of the thread, there
isn’t a racist angle to this. So what is the justification
for disciplining him?

Is is also subject to expulsion if he prefers lighter color
furniture in his dorm room, or is it still okay to express
those views?
