Rush Limbaugh said today on his radio show that Donald Trump’s attack on Ted Cruz over the weekend, calling him a ‘maniac’ given the way he’s dealt with McConnell and others in the Senate, is not an attack a genuine conservative would make and it has raised a red flag for him: While I would certainly vote for Trump if he were the nominee, I’ve never thought he was a genuine conservative. But I do think he’s tried in some ways to bridge his positions with conservatism and I think he generally leans in that direction.
At the end of the day though, if he becomes president, I expect a lot of compromise with Congress, especially on his more conservative positions — and I know that going into the voting booth. If you expect something different you might be in for a big surprise.
This is also why I support Ted Cruz. I do expect him to compromise with Congress as well, as he has said as much, but I don’t believe he will go so far as to compromise his principles.

Nor mine. Rush never threw Trump under the bus by only commenting on the issue and to wonder why. An Onymous certainly gets around to cause so much damage.
Rush went to more of an even keel in his 2nd hour.Maybe he unblocked his e-mail and got the facts as to why.

Most of us long time listeners understand this and we also see the same criticisms leveled against Rush every election cycle.
During primary’s Rush reports the news and gives his opinion.
In this case the news raised red flags about trump and he reported it and gave his opinion, just as he would for any candidate in a primary.
But we all know that Rush is a Conservative and that will be evident when we get to the general election.

This is great news! Trumps numbers will go up another 5 points among moderates.
I don’t want Trump and Cruz fighting each other or their supporters fighting each other in this forum.
That just clears the path for the GOPe and Rubio to win.
Rush made his point that it doesn’t look good for Trump to use Republican Establishment talking points to criticize Cruz.

Thank you for pointing this out. Rush did not have the whole story. How very disappointing for him to miss their crucial piece. Rush has lost it.
I guess you missed the part where Cruz attacked that story and it's unidentified sources..before Trump launched his attacks. Trumps attack strategy employed here is the same as the leftist media and establishment repubs have used against cruz. That's just a fact, not conjecture. No knee jerking required.
Rush said he “was disappointed that Trump would use the argument of the left against Cruz.”
I heard right here, that there was also a recording of Cruz going negative.
Did that not happen?
He went after Mr. Newt four years ago, as did Levin, when Newt went after Romney from the left in similar fashion.

The Cruz attack makes no sense to me. ...or to you.
Trump has been right on everything else. ...and I’m not going to abandon Trump for one miscalculation.
Politics is a death match.
BTW Cruz is my #1 since June.
Rush didn’t have the full story, I was just listening to him and he still doesn’t completely understand.
Rush lost a lot on the way he reports on stories when he lost his hearing years ago.
Trump is not a Conservative...
You know it, I know it and he knows it.
Prior to his party switch, he would have been called a blue dog dem. He has not changed since then.
Rush sees it in this ill-conceived attack on Cruz.
And yes, I am quite sure his e-mail box is stuffed with angry Trump supporters blather.

Rush has always been connected to the Bush machine. Even did sleepovers in a Bush White House etc. There is also a candidate other than Jeb, who has deep connections and associations with the Bush machine.
