RUSH LIMBAUGH: TRUMP’S ATTACK ON CRUZ RAISES RED FLAGS – [AUDIO]
TheRightScoop ^ | 12/14/15 | TheRightscoop

Posted on 12/14/2015 11:11:04 AM PST by gwgn02

Rush Limbaugh said today on his radio show that Donald Trump’s attack on Ted Cruz over the weekend, calling him a ‘maniac’ given the way he’s dealt with McConnell and others in the Senate, is not an attack a genuine conservative would make and it has raised a red flag for him: While I would certainly vote for Trump if he were the nominee, I’ve never thought he was a genuine conservative. But I do think he’s tried in some ways to bridge his positions with conservatism and I think he generally leans in that direction.

At the end of the day though, if he becomes president, I expect a lot of compromise with Congress, especially on his more conservative positions — and I know that going into the voting booth. If you expect something different you might be in for a big surprise.

This is also why I support Ted Cruz. I do expect him to compromise with Congress as well, as he has said as much, but I don’t believe he will go so far as to compromise his principles.

The Donald seldom makes mistakes. We will see if this turns out to be one. The more flack you get, the closer to the target you are.

Another quote from Rush's show today (12/14/2015) speaking of Mr. Trump:

RUSH: So he's decided to go after Cruz here in the way the establishment Republicans go after Cruz, in the way the media goes after Cruz, in the way the Democrats go after Cruz. He's essentially put on his John McCain hat here and saying, "I'm Donald McCain, and I'm the guy that can cross the aisle and work with the other side. Ted Cruz can't." I was kind of surprised by that.

Thank you.

You’re right, it’s pretty mild. Not sure if I agree with his characterization of Trump’s campaign as losing momentum. He’s got to say that though. They’re competing for the very same job.

Hopefully the two of them have pulled back from this snipe-fest for now anyway.

We shall see tomorrow, I guess. Good recording, thanks.

Actually, it’s a typical Cruz talk. I have heard it before.

And yes, I suppose the NYT was expecting Cruz to endorse the Donald, and since he did not endorse him, it’s because he thinks he’s not qualified....lol

Trump keep doubling down on his attacks and Cruz is hugging him in return.....

Sooner or later this will affect numbers...

Ah, no, he didn’t draw back a stump. The attack was such a wild swing that conservatives just laughed. Sen. Cruz’ response just echoed the laughter of conservatives. “She’s a maniac! A maniac...”

I saw the Trump interview were he used the word “maniac.” It did not come across as a bombastic slam at all. It was low key and just illustrated the point, Cruz may have problems working with the Senate, especially the leadership.

I like Cruz and I didn’t take it as a personal slam. Actually one could say the same thing about Trump if he becomes president.

If either Trump or Cruz wins, it means a conservative landslide will probably have occurred. House and Senate will have a totally different makeup and “personality.” Wouldn’t be as big an issue as it is with today’s makeup.

Thank you Rush.
Thank you Mark Levin.
Thank you Conservative Review Staff.

You left one off of your list....

Thank you SuperPAC donors.

Who the above are all compensated by or affiliated with. PAC $$ buys lots of ads and ‘review/scorecard’ outlets.

Yep... Cruz is like a bass fisherman, and just set, and pulled the hook. Well played.

How does calling Cruz a maniac for calling a McConnell a liar (an attack from the liberal point of view) have anything to do with crony capitalism? I agree with all of the other things you said in your other response to me. But if self financing to avoid the appearance of crony capitalism is now the litmus test, we’ve now resigned ourselves to only billionaires being electable as president. And still, there are no indications that Trump has any long held conservative beliefs...and volumes of evidence to the contrary.

Donald Trump is in this for Donald Trump. We will rue the day he ever comes within sniffing range of the Oval office.

tomorrow?

Are you saying only billionaires who are willing to fund their own campaigns are fit for office? I think the founding fathers would be shocked by that. They might think that placed the office up for sale to the highest bidder. Most Americans need not apply.

Self financing doesn’t necessarily equate to having no strings or other personal/professional encumbrances.

If a Senator ....any Senator who claims the mantle of Conservatism, has problems dealing with this Senate, it is a badge of courage, not a criticism.

Trump has borrowed from the MSM to attack Cruz, and it should set you on your heals, and not give you cause for support.

But then, Trump is not selling himself as a Conservative, is he......He can’t because he’s not.

You had to hear the whole segment. He did say this was not his best moment BUT he did go in depth. This is not a sound bite story.

Neither candidate is in a “stay home if he wins” posture.

Rush also said those who take money have to dance for those who gave the money.

Tump’s campaign is all ideas which is what terrifies the establishment.

Trump attached Cruz because he wouldn’t play ball with Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell.
