"We're At War, Get It Through Your Head", Trump Doubles Down During Combative Follow Up Interviews

12 hours after his dramatic campaign statement to shut out Muslims arrivals into the US, Donald Trump doubled down and in a series of interviews early on Tuesday, he repeatedly told anchors such as CNN's Chris Cuomo that "we're at war - get it through your head" in his latest heated exchange, during which he reminded America how quickly people have forgotten "World Trade Center #1 and World Trade Center #2."
One thing that Trump did stress throughout the media blitz is that his plan to prevent Muslims from entering the U.S. was "temporary." and in a follow up interview on ABC's "Good Morning America" he clarified that American Muslims living abroad could return to the U.S., following conflicting statements by his campaign yesterday: when asked if Trump's proposal applied to U.S. citizens living abroad, a Trump spokesperson had told The Hill on Monday that Trump's proposal applied to "everyone."
In the aftermath of yesterday's announcement, there has been a surge of media outlets comparing Trump to Hitler (as seen below).
George Stephanopoulos asked Trump during the ABC interview whether the candidate was bothered by the increasing number of such comparisons, to which Trump responded with a simple, "No."
As could have been expected, Trump's interview on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" turned combative when co-host Joe Scarborough tried to interject a question, while the real estate mogul continued to speak during the phone call-in interview. As the Hill reports, Scarborough threatened to send the interview to a break if Trump didn't allow him to ask a question. After Trump didn't relent, Scarborough instructed producers to cut to commercials.
After the break, Trump discussed comparisons to former President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Questioned about whether he was proposing internment camps like the ones FDR created for the Japanese, Trump said, "I am not proposing that. This is a whole different thing," he added later during another combative exchange.
It wasn't just the leftist media that attacked Trump - so did the GOP, where rivals blasted Trump, including former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush who called it "unhinged," as well as the Republican party chairs in the early voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. The White House and Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton also panned the idea as un-American and unconstitutional.
Despite the condemnations, Trump said on MSNBC that "we have to get our hands around a very serious problem" adding that "not everybody has condemned" his comments.

God bless Donald Trump. I’m not an American but boy am I proud of that man - incredible.
As a side note, I watched his speech last night and interview this morning and I noticed he seems to be struggling with his voice a bit. Hope he is ok!

Yes! This is our country! We make the rules! We decide who lives here and who doesnât!
"...in proof that they meant to comprehend, within the mantle of it's protection, the Jew and the Gentile, the Christian and Mahometan, the Hindoo, and infidel of every denomination."
---Thomas Jefferson, on "The Virginia Act for Establishing Religious Freedom"
What did Jefferson mean - and how does that strategy work towards neutralizing ideological frauds like Islam?

I bet the people complaining about Trump would argue “yes”.

possibly he and all other defending the terrorist are hedging their bets that they will not be beheaded.
While they plea for their lives, they will remind the jihadists of how they defended them, don't that count?/s

Trump should advocate a full stop of all visa programs for at least five years.

You are surprised by any of that?
Look at what the left is demanding. Illegal immigration with full voting rights. Men in women’s rooms. Only black lives matter. Mobs attacking candidates. Cities burnt when criminals are shot. Muslims as victims.
It’s all true and worse!

I hope Trump starts explaining Sharia law, which 51% of Muslims in the US agree with. Death to those that don’t convert, women can’t vote, drive, or go anywhere with an unrelated male. Looks like the feminazis should be backing Trump!

It is obvious to anyone with eyes to see that Trump is right.
HOWEVER, the nation is not yet able to see. The vast majority have a world view that blinds them to the truth. Most so desperately WANT Islam to be peaceful that they block out the truth.
It will take a major shock to change this basic world view, and we have not yet had that shock.
This move was a HUGE gamble. It will hurt him badly until things get bad enough to change people’s basic world view. The situation will have to be much worse than it is now for that to happen. At that point people will flock to him as the ONLY leader with the guts to stand up and speak the truth in advance. Winston Churchill comes to mind.
Timing is everything. If something gigantic is just around the corner then his timing will have been perfect. But if nothing major happens, soon, then he may have just lost the nomination.
In gambling terms, Trump just went “all in”. Why now?

The media, and obviously the Washington Politicians, are so out of touch with the people on this. Now it’s Paul Ryan leading the anti-Trump charge.
We have a majority of Muslims LIVING in the USA hating our way of life. We have attacks already on our soil. Attacks on going in Europe where the same thing is going on.
It is incomprehensible that no one running for office sees the threats except Trump.
I pray that there are no more attacks here, but if there are and they are by Muslims, then I think there will be no disagreement what we need to do.

I read a comment (at another site) the other day that said something like...
“Feminists and gays supporting muslims doesn’t make sense....since muslims don’t think women or gays should have rights.”

I wonder if while those innocent San Berdo victims who were being brutally shot to death and maimed during their Christmas party turned horrific massacre, care about offending someone?
Do the victims families who are still crying and grieving in shock care?
How about all those still in hospitals with parts of their heads and bodies blown away? I don’t think they’re worried about offending anyone. Then the MSM puts up a pic of Trump attempting to depict him as the Nazi bad guy?
This is why Trump tells all, the MSM is nearly 100% pure evil.

This is an excellent strategy on Trump’s part. His critics against the policy are now aligning themselves with CAIR and their ilk.

Trump blasted the door open for the long overdue discussion on the true nature of islam.
Maybe people will get curious enough to actually try and learn something about it by doing research.
The media would be well served if they take this opportunity to do some exposure under the guise of fact checking Trump.
If MSM has any hopes of rising out of the depths of their irrelevancy they’d better jump on this.
America is waiting.
We quit watching years ago.
