How in the hell did Trudeau come out of no where with 3 months to g, and win the election?
The canadians I know are NOT THAT STUPID.

It is because of the British parliamentary system. What happens is a vote "first passed the post". This meant that the popular vote when tabulated, gave these figures.
Liberals 39 percent.
Conservatives 31.8 percent.
NDP (socialist) 22 percent.
Others 9 percent.
In the previous election the Conservatives got the 39 percent and the Liberals the 31.8 percent. A Conservative majority. It is said by the pollsters that vital 8.1 percent changed the course of the election. Thus 60 percent of Canadians did not vote Trudeau's Liberals. The party poo bahs pick their leader, not the public. Unlike the US system where it is head to head for the individuals seeking the presidency.
Relentless media bashing of Harper, and Trudeau promising legal weed. Somehow it was decided that Canada needed leadership again, despite Harper guiding Canada through the global recession relatively unscathed. There’s really no alternative media up there, at least that can challenge the CBC.
LOL, my bro-in-law is canadian and I asked him about his new pm. he said he was great and how much he loved the guy’s father. I laughed and said he was the canadian obama. He looked at me so confused!
That would take a lot to do. Perhaps so.
The other alternative (not a comforting one, either) is Canadians really are as stupid and deluded as a huge plurality of the American electorate is.
A large number of Canadians wanted "change". Didn't matter who, just "change". PM Harper was doing a terrific job with our economy, keeping us safe from terrorists, making sure we did our part on the world stage regarding Islamic terrorism, NAMING the terrorist threat, developing our natural resources, renouncing any credibility of man made global warming, refusing to play that game at their silly little conferences, and on and on. But, people wanted "change". Well, they got it.
I will go to my grave saying there should be a IQ test before anyone can vote.
You had better believe it’s rigged. There’s no way he won on the crap he was saying.
Here in Alberta we are in separation mode. People that would never even before entertain it are now openly talking about it. I think it’s the only way.
