While interviewing Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel in Chicago this morning, Politico’s Mike Allen let slip the supposedly off-the-record detail that the Emanuel family is going to Cuba on their winter break:

His personality has always reminded me of that of an old Soviet bloc dictator, so Cuba sounds like the perfect place.
With some big issues hitting or about to hit the fan in Chicago, I wonder if he should stay home instead. Nah — I guess not. He’S just following the example of his old boss.
Now we can better understand the Obama/Rahm relationship.
