Not sure I get what the contradiction is supposed to be. By conventional black hole theory, matter that falls down the hole emits radiation as a result of being torn apart by the extreme gravity gradient. Is something being seen that does not conform to that theory either?

That's how I've understood it. Black holes are only "black" within the event horizon. I'd imagine that a large one would be fairly bright in an astronomical sense from torturing all the local matter as it falls in.

Yup, the theory is that NOTHING, even the radiation, x-rays, whatever, can escape from the "black hole"....My question has always been, where does the stuff go, what's on the other side, does it empty out somewhere, and WHY are these part of the universe....their purpose?????
