Chuck Todd once again confronted Donald Trump on Meet the Press and appeared to get more and more exasperated with Trump's false claim that thousands of New Jersey Muslims cheered on 9/11.
Todd pointed out that Trump has demanded "pinpoint accuracy" from the media--and at pretty much every rally Trump has called the press "dishonest"--and asked, "Why shouldn't we demand the same pinpoint accuracy in the claims that you make? Isn't it hypocritical of you calling us out if we're not calling you out when you stray from the truth?"
He repeatedly challenged Trump on that 9/11 claim, and Trump still insisted he saw it and bragged that many other people saw it happen and called/tweeted him to let him know that he's absolutely right.
Todd shot back, "That doesn't make it true!"
Trump said the cheering from Muslims happened "all around the world" so "why wouldn't it have taken place."

I rember the morning of the attack like it was this morning and remember well various clips of Muslims from around the US and the world dancing in the street and throwing candy in celebration. Trump is right. Remove Islam from America.

Ahhh yes - I remember that well. Chuck Todd and CNN kept on that story for weeks and weeks. Almost as long as the credible rape charge story against Bill Clinton...

There are said to be 200,000 Muslims in New Jersey. If only 1% of them had celebrated 9/11, that would have made Trump’s “thousands” claim true.
Trump is an odious mediaite himself, but as such he knows the thing that is the most important - get out there and blast it first, whether it’s true or not.
Like the thing with the black pastors...who meet with all the candidates, but whom Trump proclaimed were supporting him. Nobody is going to hear their statements about how they weren’t endorsing him, because Trump has already planted his version.
As much as I despise Trump for his nastiness and incoherence, I will say he’s probably one of the most media savvy candidates ever, no doubt because of his entertainment and reality TV background.
Reagan had also been an actor and was pretty media savvy, but he didn’t lie or pander; however, that was decades ago, and now that the media has proved its ability to detach from reality, Trump is merely exploiting this.
Now the shoe is on the other foot and they don't like it one bit.
