Red Star Falling: The Trumbo Train Wreck
PJ Media ^ | November 26, 2015 | Ron Radosh

Posted on 11/28/2015 6:30:45 PM PST by OddLane

When it was announced two years ago that Bryan Cranston would play Dalton Trumbo in a new movie about the late blacklisted Communist screenwriter, I wrote an article for National Review that asked a simple question: would the film be honest and portray Trumbo accurately, or would it perpetuate the myth of innocent and victimized Hollywood Reds?

Indeed, because of this piece, the producers and/or the publicity people of Bleecker Street Cinema claimed that I had “trashed the film” in advance and barred me from the screening, thus preventing me from writing about it for a national publication. One could say that Bleecker Street Cinema blacklisted me -- but we all know they are against blacklists...

Trumbo basically supported the Nazis because he supported Stalin. While the Hitler-Stalin Pact was in play, Trumbo wanted the US to be isolationists. As soon as Hitler and Stalin broke apart, Trumbo decided that Hitler was a bad guy and the US should get involved and help out Uncle Joe.

Not a good person.

What’s very interesting is Reagan and the SAG when he was president of that organization.

WHY is The Left pretending they mourn the times that Free Speech is stifled..?

Who believes THAT..? The Left LOVES shutting people up:

Try being Ann Coulter and giving a speech on campus these days. Or a dozen other real Conservatives.

The more they shut up our people the more they feel this need to pretend like Oy Vey We Are Sooooo Oppressed.

It’s ridiculous.

Read Eugene Lyons’ “The Red Decade” (1940) about commies in Hollywood.

Older but not dated. Same stupid evil motives in Tinseltown then as now.

Dalton Trumbo was EVIL!

He published a book, “Johnny got his gun” about the horrors of war in the German/Soviet Nonaggression Pact, when he wanted the US to be isolationist, then had it pulled off the bookshelves when Hitler invaded his real Motherland.
A nasty piece of work through and through.

Remember Conan the Barbarian?

Remember Jaws? (A shark has dead eyes, a doll’s eyes, until he BITES you..!)

Remember Red Dawn?

John Milius was one of the most productive and famous screenwriters in Hollywood —his name there was once almost as big as that of Steven Speilberg. But here’s the weird thing:

He’s a conservative.

The straw that broke the camel’s back was Red Dawn:

Hollywood freaking BLACKLISTED him —he had no work, NO ONE would hire him. That movie totally mortified them, angered them.

Later he was so poor he couldn’t pay his son’s Law School tuition —his buddy had to pay it.

He later had a stroke, and that shut him up permanently.

LIBS AND HOLLYWOOD IS **FINE** WITH CENSORSHIP AND BLACKLISTING.

Hey why are the overwhelming majority of the names of the members of Friends of Abe (Hollywood Conservatives) SECRET...?

Cuz your career is freaking OVER if they find out about you being a Conservative in Hollywood.

Elia Kazan directed “On the Waterfront” with Marlon Brando —it was a tour de force.

Hollywood freaking HATED (and still does hate) him.

He exposed the criminal nature of some labor unions.

No, I haven't been to a movie theater in years. And I don't rent films. Anyway, from what you say about it, it sounds just as I would have expected from Hollywood.

Hollywood has been continuously exposed, but they only got hurt one time that I am aware of...

I don’t know what can be done.

As long as the so called “media” is considered the watchdog of society, the FOX will still be watching the hen house.

I thought (the Tom Hanks character) thought a little too highly of the spy.
I don’t know why (Hanks) thought he deserved anything other than execution.
I realize the sparing of the spy enabled the transfer in the future, of Powers

Still, I found no redeeming qualities of the spy
