Ted Cruz became a Canadian citizen at birth. Canada also has birthright citizenship. Obama was born in the US (supposedly) thereby making him a citizen at birth (jus solis).

Obama was born on US soil, Hawaii. He had to produce proof that is was born in the USA, which he did.

Ted Cruz never claimed to be Kenyan, as did Obama in campaign literature when he ran for Senate.

Cruz had dual Citizenship at birth (US/Canadian) according to some sources, and selected US when he reached the age of majority.
