Former and serving diplomats and intelligence officials tell the Telegraph that President Obama's hopes of defeating Islamic State are based on "smoke and mirrors"
But in a series of candid interviews with the Telegraph, Western diplomats and intelligence officials - current and former - have angrily dismissed the approach as a “smoke and mirrors†public relations exercise founded on little substantive or effective action.
“It’s smoke and mirrors and that is the dirty little secret,†said Derek Harvey, one of Mr Obama’s senior former intelligence officials, a Middle East specialist, who said he resigned from his job in frustration at the administration's handling of the conflict.
Many members of both the American and the European intelligence and diplomatic apparatus say the chaos in Iraq and Syria is caused by Mr Obama’s determination to press on with an “exit strategy†from the region, signalled by the withdrawal from Iraq.
The intelligence official said this had created a sense of apathy, with departments feeling they were being judged by how much they were focused on “detaching†from the Middle East, rather than on the success of the policies they were actually implementing there. Experts in the region had also been withdrawn in case they concentrated on achieving results.

This is all utter horseshit. He leads with words and bravado backed up by squat. When he gets caught on it it’s unleash the media hounds and dissemblers.
If ‘they’ (sappers) are here, all you people are on your own. Your government isn’t going to do squat except to say they were ‘tracking’ them for months as your loved ones were murdered. Followed up, of course, by more of Obama’s bullshit.
Yep, that’s why he promoted the MB in Egypt, has Muslim advisors throughout his Administration, destabilized Libya, smuggled weapons to ISIS through Benghazi, dumped huge caches of US weaponry in Iraq to a hopelessly inept and unmotivated Iraqi army to be used by ISIS, welcomes Muslim “refugees” while scorning Christians and Yazidids, etc., etc.
It should be spoken all over the US, because it’s necessary to jolt the disinterested public from the narrative that because he’s President, he’s honorable and cares for America.
If they are here, and they need to be tracked 24 hours a day, then they need to pick them up. Most are deportable. The others pay their taxes perfectly? The others never violate some arcane weapons charge? They never have 2 beers and drive? They never violate an epa law? They never make a guitar fret out of ebony wood?

How can they say that? Why, just the other day, Obama said he would deliver a "powerful rebuke" to ISIS by attending a climate change conference in Paris. How much more forceful do they think he could be?

Containment Policies Applied to Terrorism
Obama’s nuanced resurrection of containment for itinerant terrorists and rogue states ignores George Kennan’s preeminent policy definition for Cold War actions in his “1,000 Word Telegramâ€. For him the Cold War would require worldwide economic domination against the Soviet Union governing apparatus. Marist/Leninist worldview mirrored traditional Russian ruling class neurotic insecurities about retaining power, despite archaic, fragile political systems. The Soviet Union would opportunistically employ strategies short of war to advance control internally, and undermine Western nations. The Soviet Union would not risk national resources and stature against adversaries possessing sufficient power, and demonstrating clear readiness to use it. The Soviets would not pursue the hazardous, systematic plans of a Hitlerite Germany.
Containment parallels do not apply to the Global War on Terror (GWOT). Wahhabi/Salafi heresy teaches Jews, Christians, Sunnis, Shi’as, and secularists are legitimate objects for systematic slaughter. Terrorists claiming this heresy substitute limitless murder for traditional Muslim loyalties valuing family, tribe, and ethnicity. Their Caliphate can as easily rise from embers of this current world as within populations submissive to their savagery.
Victory instead requires vigorous, costly engagement along the full spectrum of diplomacy with lavish application of military force. Engagement focuses continuous attacks against terrorist leadership, communications, and infrastructure. Engagement requires supporting African, Oriental and Asian country initiatives for viable national governments that marginalize terrorists. By frustrating plans, breaking alliances, and fracturing organizations, terrorists retain ever less effective units. Without cities or countries bin Laden, ISIS leaders, and successor sociopaths, live out unnaturally shortened lives as pariahs.

There is no plan to defeat ISIL. There is only a plan to let ISIL do what it can while pretending to fight it only as much as necessary to keep criticism tamped down to tolerable levels. The goal is the Caliphate of the Hidden Imam, Barack Hussein Obama...

Of course they are here. They were ushered into front row seats by Obama who has compared them to the original Pilgrims from leading up to our founding. They already HAVE the means to track them; they brought them here!
What all of this is a plan by Obama to cause as much havoc as he can given the time he has left. By the time someone sane takes over that office, these terrorists will be burrowed so deeply we won’t be able to find them save their pieces after they’ve blown themselves up along with thousands of Americans. I kept trying to remember what Obama’s actions recently re-minded me of because they are so absurd, e.g. “I’m going to Paris next week for the Climate Change conference and it’s going to really show the terrorists that we are serious”, or words to that effect. Obama is as delusional as Hitler was the last months of World War II. These next 12 plus months of Obama’s rein are going to be real zingers.
How will the complicit media here report this story?
