Having lived in PG County for the past 16 years, this is literally the first time I've ever heard that the name "PG County" was offensive (now large parts of the county are offensive, but that's a separate issue).

I have *no* idea what they’re talking about.

Been here my whole life.

I read the article and the comments, and still don’t get it. Help out an outsider and tell me what is offensive about “PG”? Short for PiG? I don’t get it.

pg county stands for petey greene’s county, its most famous native.

for those outside the beltway, utube him. his Herschel walker piece was especially prescient.

rip petey. you are missed.

I’ve know and used the term “PG County” for many, many years. Just like MoCo stands for Montgomery County. Some people need to find anything and everything offensive just to prove they are offended.

I grew up in PG county . Always call it PG county. Never meant it as a negative.

I found Paris Glendenning (spend-denning) offensive. He hailed from PG county.

Does this clown find DC, DelMarVa, NoVa, PA, and the O’s offensive?

I never heard such a thing either, and I am a lifelong neighbor in Howard.

I guess I should be offended by “HoCo”. I will send a nastygram to HoCoMoFreddie’s to complain about their offensive paper name.
