Excerpts from RT(Russia Today):

Shortly afterwards, the MoD announced three steps to be taken following the attack on the Russian Su-24 bomber, including providing aerial cover by fighter jets for every airstrike, boosting air defense by deploying guided missile cruisers off the Latakia coast, and suspending all military-to-military contacts with Turkey.

The S-400 is Russia's most advanced anti-aircraft defense system. It is as an upgrade of the S-300 Growler family, designed and developed by Almaz Antei. The S-400 is employed to ensure air defense using long- and medium-range missiles that can hit aerial targets at ranges up to 400 kilometers. The S-400 is capable of hitting tactical and strategic aircraft as well as ballistic and cruise missiles. The system includes a set of radars, missile launchers and command posts, and is operated solely by the Russian military.

One battery already there and operating, as of this morning.
They mounted it, and it’s radar system, on the Moskva.

Another is thought to be “enroute” to the airbase, where the radar for it was deployed at the beginning of Russian ops.

From 2012: Syria shoots down Turkish plane

"Turkey's prime minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has threatened Syria with retaliation for shooting down a military jet, and warned that Turkish armed forces will respond to any Syrian encroachment on the border.

Nato secretary general Anders Fogh Rasmussen said the alliance stands by Turkey but is not considering a military response."

Don’t loiter anywhere near the border is the message.

Turkey may face some trouble next time its planes are sent to bomb Kurd position inside Syria. Russia’s missile from S-400 could come up to greet them. It was Turkey vs Syria, but now escalated into Turkey vs Russia/Syria.

"Excerpts from RT (Russia Today):"

"RT [Russia Today] has been called a propaganda outlet for the Russian government[10][11][12] and its foreign policy[10][11][13][14] by former Russian officials[15] and by news reporters,[16] including former RT reporters.[17][18][19]

It has also been accused of spreading disinformation.[20][21][22]

The United Kingdom media regulator Ofcom has threatened RT with sanctions because of repeated violations of its rules on impartiality.[23]

The network states that it offers a 'Russian perspective' on global events.[24]"

I know. I figure that this excerpts on missile deployment has little propaganda content, other than possible bragging about S-400’s capability.

If they really want to get back at the Turks, they will send the system to Greece where Turkey seems to have no qualms about violating their airspace. Payback is a beech.

Well, it’s good to see the Russian spin on this. Say, was the Turkish F-4 attacking Syria?

The OP was from Reuters that blurbed about what Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said about the S-400. RT notwithstanding, because it has reported similarly recently doesn’t invalidate the Reuters article.

As for bragging about the S-400 capability, we don’t have a lot of information in the open on it, but here’s a good place to get some background:
