A Monterey OB-GYN was convicted Monday of stalking her estranged husband and the woman she accused of having an affair with him.
Dr. Mary Kay Brewster, 58, of Salinas was convicted after a two-week trial on two felony stalking counts, one felony vandalism count and one misdemeanor trespassing count.
According to a news release from the Monterey County District Attorneyâs Office, Brewster began stalking her husband after they separated when she accused him of infidelity. She harassed him by entering his workplace and destroying property, sending thousands of harassing and profane text messages, calling his cellphone throughout the night and defacing his mail with obscenities, prosecutors said.
She also vandalized her husbandâs car, poisoned his plants, physically assaulted him and repeatedly threatened to tell his mother and his children vile stories about him, according to the release.
The harassment peaked when Brewster broke into her husbandâs home while he was away on a trip and left a 3- to 4-foot-long python and three rats in his bedroom, knowing he has a phobia of snakes.

“...poisoned his plants...”
I manage a Garden Center; hang her at dawn!!
But, in all seriousness, being stalked is pretty d@mn scary. There should be stiff penalties for harassing others.
Latest chic flick coming to Lifetime?
I was going to say “but he was her husband...” and then I decided to read the article first. LOL. A python? Whoa.
I don’t know. Stalking is bad but then again there is a wide range of definitions. A cheating husband would make a person mad. Obviously this lady went too far, but I wouldn’t favor blanket stiff penalties on the more mild stuff. Unfortunately the laws are written to prosecute based on the feelings of the one being stalked. That’s not really fair, imo.
“she accused of having an affair with him”
So -did- the guy actually have an affair or not. If he did, then I have no pity for him and I’d have found the pissed wife not guilty. Actions have consequences.
Kathrin Brewster... Those evil moves from the terminator?
So, did Artichoke or what?
“Play Misty for Me”.
Life imitates art.
Definitely DANGER ZONE material, this one...
Would you say the same thing if the roles were reversed, she was the cheater, and he did all those things to her?
Absolutely 100%. Personally I think that ranks up there with pedo crap. It is responsible for destroying millions of lives. I have zero pity for anyone that cheats on a spouse and IMO whatever they get, they deserve.
Get a divorce and bang away.
“Tell his mother and HIS children.” They aren’t her children? Hmmm I wonder how his first marriage ended? Maybe the current wife knows a thing or two about cheating. I guess she never heard if he cheats with you, you can expect he will cheat on you.
Sounds like he had a lot of sense to get away from her.
And she’s just reinforcing that decision.
Way back in my senseless teenage years, that was one thing I realized about men.
If they'd cheat on their wives with me, they'd cheat on me with someone else.
Avoiding attached men was one of the few smart things I did.
Sorta reminds one of the movie set in Carmel, “Play Misty For Me”.
Oh, I’d take it case by case, of course.
BUT - I dated a guy once with a PSYCHO ex-Wife. She’d follow us around, or would park outside of my house ‘on surveillance’ for hours on end. Late-night phone calls, nasty letters to me, etc.
It wasn’t any fun, and I broke up with him because of it. There was no way I was going to put up with that, and I just assumed it would escalate in the future if I kept seeing him.
People! Grrrrrr! :)
