In new shock poll, Sanders has landslides over both Trump and Bush (barf alert)

In a new McClatchy-Marist poll, Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) leads Republican candidate Donald Trump by a landslide margin of 12 percentage points, 53 to 41. In the McClatchy poll, Sanders also leads former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) by a landslide margin of 10 points, 51 to 41.

The huge Sanders advantage over Trump is not new. In the last four match-up polls between them reported by Real Clear Politics, Sanders defeated Trump by margins of 12, 9, 9 and 2 percentage points. The huge Sanders advantage over Bush is new. In previous match-ups, the polling showed Sanders and Bush running virtually even, with Bush holding a 1-point lead over Sanders in most of the polls. Future polls will be needed to test whether the huge Sanders lead over Bush in the McClatchy poll will be repeated in future polling or whether the McClatchy poll is an outlier.

It is shocking that the data suggests that Sanders has a lead over Trump that could be so huge that he would win a landslide victory in the presidential campaign, with margins that would almost certainly lead Democrats to regain control of the Senate and could help Democrats regain control of the House of Representative — if, of course, the three polls that show Sanders beating Trump by 9 to 12 points reflect final voting in the presidential election.

It would be equally shocking if future polling shows that the Sanders lead over Bush remains at landslide margins.

For today, there are two issues these polls present. First, the national reporting of the presidential campaign completely fails to reflect Sanders's strength in a general election, especially against Trump, and against Bush as well.

“In a new McClatchy-Marist poll”

That was a typo. It should have read, “In a new catchy Marxist poll”

Two problems:

Bernie is not going to beat Hilary & no one is going to vote for a socialist.

And he has Justin Trudeau’s views without the touch of youth.

Nobody thought Obama would be the nominee in 2007-early 2008, either.

OMG!!! Time for the Democr@ps to dump Hilly!!! /heavy sarc

Hey, they dumped her in 2008 at a time when the going assumption right here, to the hysterical mantra "Anybody but Hillary!!!!" was that she was going to be the nominee.

Obama was beyond the pale, inconceivable that the Dems would run such a candidate ... yet they did. Why on earth anyone thinks they won't do the same this time around is perplexing, especially since in real on-the-ground Americans including Democrats Hillary is loathed. That's what I hear from my Democrat friends and it's what I read in posts of Americans on discussion boards across this fruited plain.

It doesn’t take much to defeat Jeb. I’m sure Bernie would whoop Jeb’s arse. (Only Hillary would lose to jeb.). But defeating the charismatic trump looks way beyond Bernie’s powers, IMHO.

The 47% will vote for him as leader of the free shit army, no questions asked.

The fight between the right and left will be over the 6~7% middle of the road on the fence crowd.

This asssuming that the left doesn’t just go ahead and declares hitlery lord high ruler.

Of course this very same scenario played in 2008, with the rise of the nobama out of literally nowhere, and stopping hitlery in her tracks.

The left may have another dark horse hiding in the shadows for all we know. We need to find out who their wild card may be, and shut them down before they can even start.

I would absolutely ‘love’ it if they would dump her. I would throw a party for friends & family to celebrate if they’d dump her (not joking here). You’d probably hear her scream all the way across the ‘fruited plain’ if that happened & I think she’d kill someone with her bare hands (not sure who .... I’d be ok with Bill the Pervert or Omuslim). :-)

This wouldn’t surprise me in the least. Both Trump and Sanders are populists (that is, telling their respective bases what they want to hear) but Sanders is promising more free stuff.

And Bush is simply a non- starter with any group.

Remember that eight years ago, we were laughing at the prospect of an upstart do-nothing-community-organizing senator from Illinois getting the nomination. Shrillary was the annointed one and nobody was going to get in her way.

Fact is, Shrillary is an awful candidate with a ton of baggage and even those on the hard left are not that excited about her. I can very easily see Sanders kicking her butt once the primaries start.

....another thing this clown “analyst” doesn’t take into account: Sanders is largely unknown by most voters.

I read the article at the link. He posits that voters favor liberals. Nope. Sanders is an unknown.

Now, granted, if Trump and/or Cruz are the nominee, the media and the GOP-e will probably do their best to bad mouth the Republican....but that is far far different from voters loving liberals.
