I wish these idiots understood that NAZIISM, COMMUNISM, AND SOCIALISM, are a lot closer together on the political spectrum than any of them are to Conservatism.

We continually let them get away with the old trope that communism/socialism is LEFT, therefore, naziism must be RIGHT. Just because Hitler and Stalin were enemies in WW2 doesn’t mean their political views were so far apart.

The Left believes in a large central government, with significant power.
The Left believes in limiting personal freedoms, for the “greater good”.

The Right believes in a small central government, with limited powers.
The Right believes personal freedoms are the “greater good”.

It’s quite obvious where the Nazis fall in all this! But wait, say the lefties. The Nazis must be conservatives because they had fancy military uniforms.

Correct. The main difference between Naziism and Communism concerns how the economic aspects of totalitarian control is implemented. The Communists prefer that the State directly own assets and run the economy while the Nazis prefer that this be done indirectly via "private" companies that answer to the State. Arguably the Nazi approach is more efficient, but the end result is the same.

The real axis is not between "Left" and "Right", but between totalitarianism and liberty. The fact that the establishment studiously avoids pointing this out is further proof that they're all Statists at heart, and the only disagreement is about how to best implement State control over everything.
