My personal belief is that family is what you make it. We have no problem looking at an adopted child and forgetting/ignoring the fact it is not our own. And the reverse is also true.
Biologically yes. Parents/sons/daughters/aunts/uncles/cousins/grandparents are out ‘family.’ I recognize that fact of nature. But so what? When Uncle Bob rapes little billy, do we just forgive and forget? No, if we have any love at all for Billy, Bob gets beaten and disowned at best.
When Mary is so far gone she causes all manner of harm to the ‘family’, what happens? After enough suffering, Mary too gets the boot. People hit their threshold and the excuses stop.
IMO, liberalism is very much an incurable disease/mental illness. It is no different than a wife beater, a pedo, or any other incurable because liberalism IS those things. It is the foundation of them all.
We look at liberalism as a political thing. It is. But it’s far more than who one votes for or what hairbrained gaia worshiping thing is popular at college. It goes straight to good vs. evil.
Can anyone name a single thing “Liberalism” in the modern sense has done? Now can you name something truly evil it has done? We can all name a LOT of evil. What we cannot do in name anything genuinely ‘good’.
OK, with that as a foundation, I think how we should treat liberal relatives is pretty apparent. Don’t treat them any different than Barry or Hillary or any SJW/BLM you encounter.
My grandmother spent her life trying to ‘make peace’ in a truly dysfunctional family. I watched that woman tie herself in knots trying to justify the evil, the liberal, the petty crap of her kids and their extended family. She was a very good person. And she died never having made as much as a dent in any of them.
On the other hand, they took great pleasure in torturing their mother at every opportunity. And never moreso than at holiday get togethers.
I’ll spare the details but I will say this. Or ask theis and let you all decide for yourselves.

I long ago left almost all my biological ‘family’ behind. I have a family that I care about and that cares about me. We don’t sit at holidays on pins and needles waiting for the liberals there to ruin our gathering. Because there are no liberals there.

I wish we could control the lexicon on the other 95% of political issues, the way we do with Obamacare. The rest of the time, the left comes up with the buzz words (lately they like attaching the word "equality" to everything... "income equality", "marriage equality", etc.) and the mindless sheep in this country repeat it.
Hmmm...Maybe we could take a page of their playbook and call out-of-state tuition rates for illegal aliens "tuition equality" or something. I have to pay the same rates to go to the University of Wisconsin as Jose Illegal from Uruguay. We can't let tuitionophobic politicians take America backwards! The left wants to END immigrants RIGHT to tuition equality. Stop the Democrats hateful war on tuition equality!

At this point I really don’t see how conservatives can stomach liberals in their life, it makes me ill to see them on TV and read their nonsense. I am not that tolerant.
I can’t stand liberals..actually I can tolerate two of them, Kirsten Powers and Julie Roginsky, those two I can tolerate, and sometimes they actually sound rational, but the rest of liberals I cant stand them, even my own relatives so when I am around them I just don’t bring up politics at all because I know how it will turn out so I dont even bother
I had to disown the last liberal in my family last year because he just could not stop repeating all their talking points. Even when we agreed to not discuss politics he just could not do it. He is the most brainwashed liberal I have ever talked to, like a robot over and over and simply cannot talk about anything else. He is truly insane.
