The Russian Rescue Helicopter that went in to get the crew was shot down with a TOW missile. Please actually read the comment before responding next time.
Our "allies" shot down the Russian rescue helicopter with a TOW missile we gave them.

They shot at and killed one pilot as he was parachuting down. Likely they killed the other on the ground. That’s against the Geneva Convention.

The FSA are opponents of ISIS and Assad. Putin’s been bombing and killing them in his war to keep a tyrant in power. Why wouldn’t they shoot at a Russian helicopter? All the Russians need to do is stay out of Turkey’s air space and bomb ISIS. Quit trying to rebuild the Russian empire.
