Ted Cruz is among the most hated men in Washington, reviled by leaders of both parties as an ideological hard-liner loyal only to the far-right of the conservative movement.
But racing down an Iowa highway on a snowy weekend morning, a solemn Cruz suggested some of his Republican rivals for president have amped up their rhetoric too much, especially on policy toward people who are in the U.S. illegally.
"Tone matters," Cruz, the son of a Cuban immigrant, told The Associated Press in an interview between campaign stops. "Are there some in the Republican Party whose rhetoric is unhelpful with regard to immigration? Yes." ...

What a bunch of garbage and you are right; it is left wing spin
Really Ted?
That's a nasty backhanded slam on Trump and not a "wise" thing to say.
“Tone Matters”
I so far as an Andrew Dice Clay for president is concerned, Cruz has a point.
Hickory dickory dock, Obama was...
I agree with Ted on the tone matters bit.
Tone does matter, and I like Trumps tone.
It's Trump's "TONE", as well as his positions/stances that make him the #1 leader of the pack of mostly midgets, vying for the GOP presidential nomination ! At this time, we need a real leader with fire in his belly, who calls the populace to see reality, whilst also lifting up our spirits in the same way that Reagan did !
Doesn't he know? The polls don't want presidential they want entertaining.
"I am the son of an immigrant who came from Cuba with nothing, came here legally," Cruz
Even this I have come to doubt after doing a lot of reading on this topic, though I have not verified all of the alleged facts I have come into contact with. Rafael Cruz, after claiming he was tortured every 4 hours by Batista, beaten "half to death" or to the point where his body went numb, and then released... not to the doctor, but to his father, claims he came to America with no cash and was working full time while going to school full time, and that he got a social security card within 48 hours by just walking in and getting it.
Not only does it not work like that, but his type of student visa wouldn't have been eligible for a social security card anyway, nor were they, according to law at that time (at least according to the articles I've been reading-- I personally have NOT verified the law at that point), allowed to work during their first year of schooling.
This means either Rafael was actually an illegal alien, OR he was violating immigration law, OR he is just lying to make his story look better.
[ Cruz is acting all mature and presidential again!

With Ted is all an “act” you know... well that is what the left says because they project onto others and the left is never ever genuine.
Actually the article is a vicious attack on Cruz.
Propagandistically it is designed to counter a Cruz attempt to appeal to moderate voters. Which he has to do.
The AP never missed a lesson it could learn from Goebbels...
No, the AP is painting Cruz, Trump, Carson and every other American who believes in the rule of law as it pertains to borders as xenophobes. Surprised you missed that.
The media lies.

Still and all, that phrase “electable conservative” puts the implication of left-wing leanings at the starting point.
Remind me, is Trump running for president of the United States or Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union Local 354 (where break a leg carries an entirely different meaning)???
I will worry about that story as soon as Trump starts crediting all his ghost writers.

Cruz saw the polls— In reply to: “who was most prepared to be Commander in Chief”— CBS Battleground Iowa, 67% for Cruz, SC 57% for Cruz— 1st place, no one else was close. In NH, the respondents said trump (48) Cruz (47).
Absolutely remarkable, when one considers he is not 1st choice of candidate in any of those polls. That’s respect.
Thanks VinL for posting that. Very interesting indeed.
