When asked if agents were on heightened alert in light of the terrorist attacks in Beirut and Paris, one said, âOh yeah. I know itâs coming.â
Frustration levels inside the Border Patrol have reached a peak, say some agents, with concerns that they are often effectively kept from doing the job they were trained to do: stop illegal traffic from crossing the border.
âWe have people from all over the world coming to the Mexican border and claiming asylum. Since theyâre not from Mexico, we canât send them back over,â says one agent, speaking of performing his job on a daily basis. The agent spoke about his routine experience apprehending illegal immigrants.
âSince they have no criminal record in the United States, they are let into the country, and given a date to appear in court, usually months or years out. After they sign the paperwork, theyâre free to go, and disappear. Because they have no criminal records, ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] canât go looking for them since they are not âpriorities.â Even if ICE encounters them later on, ICE still canât arrest them if their criminal record isnât serious.â
âWe see a lot of Somaliâs, whichâ¦has a large Muslim population. In Nigeria, there is a huge contingent of Boko Haram, which is just a ruthless as ISIS. They have been slaughtering schools full of children and priests for years now. The truth is, anyone can get into this country and stay. Itâs not possible that we donât have any ISIS sympathizers here. Itâs just too easy for them to get here.â
None one of the agents who provided information for this report was aware of the current whereabouts of the group captured on Monday. They speculate that the F.B.I. may be interviewing them or taking custody.

I’ve been told from multiple talk radio sources that Mexico has a strict immigration policy. They always frame it as if-we only ask that ours is as good as theirs. So, what gives???
Which is it?
WTH??? If they have broken no laws??? Whose laws??? Ours??? If they haven’t been here before, they can’t have broken any...Mexico’s laws??? Do we have ready access to Mexico’s criminal records??? Do they even have a national database???
WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH OUR GOVERNMENT?????????????????
If they take up residence in Mexico or start working then they will be deported. If they are just 'passing through' to the US and have a few bucks to pay the mordida they are good to go.
The same thing is happening in southern Europe.
Anyone who is surprised by this just hasn't been paying attention.
We can all thank Kay Bailey Hutchison (TX RINO) for squashing the fence.
